Game List Update Failed

I can't get multiplayer to work.

Every time I attempt to play multiplayer on the internet, I get this pop up window saying: "Game List Update Failed. Try again later."

I tried both verifying the game files and reinstalling the game, but that hasn't fixed the problem.

Anybody got any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

Net lag probably and poor netcode.. civ isn't known for good netcode ever since they removed the direct ip.

Okay. Thank you Martin. Me probably having A LOT of tabs open in Microsoft Edge at the same time probably doesn't help. Haha.

Maybe changing VPN servers? That's what fixed this for me.

Thank you lodlock, but I managed to fix the problem. Mixture of net lag like martin suggested, I just simply didn't run any browsers or anything in the background, plus I also reinstalled the entire game. Either way, it works now and I've been playing multiplayer almost nonstop. I'm having fun playing multiplayer, despite not being able to have units auto explore, amongst other stuff. Wish I could play with my friend, because she loves the Civ games, but she's too poor to buy the game. Haha. Jk.
