Where the hell is an English leader?
I've had a tradition in every Civ game from the very first, in that my first play through is with whichever English leader is available as a bit of a nod towards my heritage.
I'm not particularly patriotic, but the tradition is important to me, especially seeing as these games were always a massive talking point between me and my best friend who died a few years after Civ 6

Elizabeth I various times
Henry VIII
Churchill

Turns out I have to buy extra DLC to play Ada Lovelace (which is a great choice by the way)
Seriously, screw this game for reducing England to DLC when it's been part of the base game in every iteration.

Seconded. Typical yanks. They forget that America, Canada, Australia and many other countries would not exist today without us Brits. We affected (for the good) about 200 countries.

I assume they skipped Britain/England because they believe, probably correctly, that an England DLC would sell well.

Ada Lovelace, was not expecting that!

I don't really want to get into the thick of whether we're "important" enough today to pull the big money, but I don't think historically it's up for debate that our impact is felt on the world at large. Arguably more than any other "Civ" even when framed by today's global composition.

So a game that is about facets of cultural, political, religious and militaristic expansionism, leaving England out in any form is just absurd.
The funniest thing is that fireaxis advertised the game by showing England. But it's not in the game now. But I'm sure we'll be able to buy it as DLC in a few months at an overpriced price.
Waiting for the Byron DLC and the whole familly cosmetics ?
