Removing Buiidings from Tiles
Does anybody know if this can be done? As Rome I am want to build the Basilica on the tile with the Temple of Jupiter, but I can't remove the lumber mill I built earlier.

Nope, you can't. Urban buildings stay where they are forever if they're ageless. If they're not ageless they stay in the next age and don't do anything but you can build over them.

In your case, your city can never have the two unique buildings together in the same quarter. Consider it a lesson learned for your next game.

Thanks for the reply. I kind of figured I wouldn't be able to..

!!@!@#!@# Just ran into this issue. Tried building a unique district in the modern era and locked out one of my cities from gaining the benefit of the unique district because I build on a tile with a granary (which is effectively useless in this age...). The term AGELESS is pretty meaningless and this really highlights a massive failure of the game to properly communicate information or warn the player about what they are doing. Would have just enjoyed a warning message or better yet let the player destroy/remove older ageless buildings. Genuinely thought ageless simply meant it could be built during any age...

By the time the first age was ending for me, the tutorial made it pretty obvious that the ageless distinction meant both any age and doesn't go obsolete. Though obviously those mistakes have already been made by that point. Shouldn't be an issue in game 2...
