I'm hoping that someone with WeMod will uninstall it and see if they can play the game without it crashing. If they could then it's confirmed that the overly invasive 2K anti-cheat is causing some of the crashes.
After uninstalling, ive played about 5 hours over a couple of instances without issue.
I'm going to reinstall to double check
Reinstalled, and got the CoC webpage after about 2 minutes.
It must scan directories for software, because it occurs even without WeMod running.
That's f-in insane. I'm a old gamer who uses WeMod for single player games because sometimes I need the help as my twitch skills are basically gone (you try playing Dark Souls with arthritis). That Civ 7 will not run with WeMod even installed isn't just a slap in the face to older gamers, it actually could be seen as an ADA violation.
I would suspect that those programs had a process/service running that you did not know about.
I can confirm from testing, that 2K's new system on Civ7 doesn't scan files. It only scans memory for process names. There is so far a decent list of them that I've found both Linux and Windows based that are flagged and will invoke the Fair Play page and close the game. Easiest Solution, build the tools from source with different names, or in the case of WeMod...hope that WeMod figures out a way to morph its process name on every time its launched.
