How about 100, 150, 200 % UI scaling option ?
My first impression of the UI is that it’s too big with the high resolution option and too small without it on a 4k monitor.

It would be nice to have more granular scaling like Civ 6, in this case 100% 150% and 200% UI scaling.

Yes Ii agree with this 100%, 150% and 200%.

Agreed.
My solution so far has been to turn of the auto UI scaling, reduce resolution to the next one down with the same aspect ratio, then adjust the font scale to the size you like.

Less direct that a UI scaling dropdown, but experience has been improved

It works bad for me on mac:
1. After changing the resolution all buttons' clickable areas are shifted.
2. If I switch between windows, the resolution changes to the auto and the interface is scaled back (no matter what is selected in the settings).
I play on 3440x1440 an UI is much too big for me. So I would prefer 75% and 50% size.... For me, it looks like optimized for big finger touch screen :D
What's weird is that most of the UI boxes and text should be smaller at 1440p but some thingh health bars, tech tree icons, etc could easily be twice as big

in the later stages of the game, the windows overlap each other and do not allow you to get information. I look at a 36-inch monitor but I see an ugly interface from a mobile device. it's terribly annoying! the entire interface takes up 3/4 of the screen, as a result, I look not at the map or useful information but at the huge next move button and the plasticine faces of opponents .... did they not test this at all? it would have been enough to introduce a slider with an auto scale interface .... I would like to reduce mine at least 4 times ...
You can edit the ui size manually in the config file. You'll have to google it.
