Im not sure about the "there is hope part" (how?).
I tried the coreinfo prog and it also showed no support for avx2 too.
Well, I wait and try and will finaly refund..
It's not even been added as an issue which is crazy.

Edit: Reread your post. So there's actually a setting in the game itself to disable AVX2 support?
I just looked through the settings and couldn't find this. (The game runs on my sons PC, but not mine!)

However it won't be if the game hasn't successfully started.
The section is,
;Disable AVX/AVX2 instructions completely in Wwise lib.
;DisableWwiseAVXInstructions 0
0 should be disabled as far as I can tell. Changing it to 1 and 2 did nothing.
