Custom Games
So my initial thought on the game itself is visually stunning however, where is the option like in civ 6 to create a custom game, select huge map, select whether barbs are on or off, how many ai players you wont and so forth. Is that in the game as I couldnt find it.

Advanced setup is really buried. After clicking New Game, click the Confirm button at the top. It will take you to some basic game settings, then there is a button there to get to Advanced settings.

I've been looking all over and this is a normal Civ feature from previous versions. Glad to know I'm not the only one.

Thank you! Hopeful they increase the numebr of options. I'm not sure why archipelago is limited to a standard map size.
There are basically no advanced settings. There is :

* Play small map without water
or
* Play small map with some water.

That's it... To say its terrible and lacking would be an understatement.

There's a bit more than that on Mac OS.

Sorry only saw the posts now but thank you for that because I'm glad I'm not the only one who is finding the advanced options extremely lack lustre. On a standard size map with max AI you literally start on top of another nation which defeats the purpose of exploration. I'm used to playing on huge maps. But yes I agree to get to the advanced options, which really arent that advanced in my opinion it is quite the process.
