In the past Civ games that I played, I really enjoyed turning off Victory Conditions and just play until I conquered every part of the map. Is that still available on this game?

Or do we still have that Just one more turn option when claiming Victory? I just don't see any toggle to turn off Victory conditions.

you cant modify the victory conditions atm. I have no idea why? Thats one of the core mechanics civ game should have

You can go on advanced options and make the games longer

Incredibly there is no "one more turn" option. In the modern era when the win condition is met by someone, or the timer for the age just runs out, the game ends instantly with little indication what has happened. There is no option to continue playing, in fact the more I think about the more I feel like the whole game has been designed as a multiplayer competitive game and that is the root of many of the more egregious changes.

I was hyped to buy this game but I'm going to hold off now.....This is a dealbreaker for me, I've always played conquest/domination mode with all the other victory options disabled. I

yeah, previous games had the ability to select victory conditions.

I expect this to be added with future patches.

You can't do that and it sucks. it absolutely ruins the game for me.. I was playing and then all of a sudden with no warning.. Game over.. I'm like.. wtf?! I'm kicking ass and just game over. What a waste of my time and money.

Firaxis forgot that whole group of civ gamers that play civ to escape into there own sandbox of history. Wierd that they missed this part, its why people come back to these games again and again, not a legacy system or it being a fast game to play. Its a form of relaxation to play civ for a lot of people, they completely forgot this group at launch, and if I am honest they almost insulted them.

They have a mod out that lets you pic victory conditions, havent tried it yet. Its a very well known/popular civ website. You could say they are civfanatics.
