YUCK. Worst UI Ever. WTF Even Is This?
I can't believe this. Old guy here, playing since the OG, I have over 700 hours on 6... this is terrible.

Worst UI I have ever seen in a Civ game. Is it a console thing? Is the UI really good for consoles? It looks like a budget game UI.

Genuinely feel disappointed, not mad, or frustrated, I just feel like one of my Rushmore franchises just became trash.

Yup it feels so cheap. Like from an indie strategy game. It's shocking.

This is the worst UI I have ever seen in a big budget game. If the Devs think this was acceptable before getting any player feedback, I don't know what to say.

It's as if they literally have never played their own game before to experience how poor it is. And being blind to not be aware of how ugly it is.
There really is no... style? to the games UI. Ugly black boxes that just pop up, no sound, no transition. I haven't seen hoverable tool tips. Things like healthbars are just a literal green rectangle.

It's a shame since there does seem to be a good depth of mechanics from the 100 minutes played so far, but for a big budget game the UI is atrocious.

Exactly! I swear I'm not "mad" I haven't hit that stage yet, I'm literally shocked. I can't believe this is that actual game.

Nah, even for console, this UI is just straight out bad - or, rather, it feels unfinished.

It feels like an initial placeholders that developers would do just to get something going while they develop and playtest the game. And then they never got around to actually replacing it with the final product.

Everything in this UI just screams to me that it is the GUI equivalent of "programmer's art".

I'm relieved to see it isn't just me.

Also, are basically all of the options for creating a game gone from 6, or am I missing something?

There's an "advanced options" button when creating a new game that has a few options, but nowhere near as many as we're used to have.

they need to hire a dedicated UI/UX design team and re-do the whole thing.

i get that UI is probably pretty low on this list of things to focus on if there's a lot to do to make the ship date on time, but this is just... not acceptable. not from these devs and this franchise.

mods will fix everything in time but mods shouldn't be necessary for things like this.
I love the game's graphics, which are quite nice, but the large ugly UI really detracts from it. Also I miss the mouse edge of screen scrolling! Now I have to use both the keyboard and mouse just to move my units.

Redoing the whole thing is the only acceptable solution, in my opinion. Literally the whole thing.

And being able to mod it should absolutely not excuse them.
Edge screen panning is not a feature? How?
Apparently its also releasing on teh switch which goes a long way to explaining the mobile look and feel of the game.

Its cheap mobile garbage masquerading as a full featured PC game.

Yeah that big immovable box that even upon minimizing gonna go over real well on switch
I bet a lot a of UI designers out there are quite happy today. Prove that people do actually notice bad UI.
