actual reviews about the gameplay, not ones with thumbs down cause it doesn't launch.
Today is when players would presumably be the most likely to praise the game. People playing today were willing to spend at least $100 ($70 edition can't play till 2/11 still), so they were folks who put faith in the game being good and really wanted to give it a chance a few days early.
So, the fact that the Steam user reviews are in the 30%-range as of me typing this is, honestly, shocking.
Seriously, think about it. Mostly negative reviews from a sub-set of players who were willing to spend $100 or more. No one who bought just the standard edition is even playing yet (in other words, no one who might already been a bit worried and decided to stay at the $70 threshold).
It looks and plays like mobile trash and certainly not a game I paid 200 AUD for. Did they outsource this game? .. it looks and plays like it.
Uninstalled and refunded, Do better Firaxis.
Would rather be sprayed direct in the face with mace than have to look at that UI to achieve a 10 hour review.
I think there's a good game here - but it's buried somewhere below a pile of some of the most horrible UI to ever make out of prototype stage.
This is not a finished product.
