No sleep or automated exploration?
Am I missing something or is this functionality gone?

Did you find Auto-Explore for scouts? i haven't seen it nor is there a keybind in the controls for it as far as i can tell
I know they had already released a patch for the game that was supposed to fix something with the UI.
From what I've seen, the UI is bad, but I'll be honest and say that it looks no better or worse than the Civ 6 launch-day UI (which was also below average).

There are a lot of questionable design choices to Civ 7 IMO, and the UI is definitely among them, but I don't really think it's all that much worse than what Civ 6 had at launch. Watching people play, the UI is sub-par but not an abomination, here.

EDIT: In Civ 6, sleep is an icon that is always up, but auto explore is still, even now, under a sub-menu of 'more options' for the unit. So yeah, Civ 6 has the same issue for auto explore.

So no auto explore for scouts in Civ 7?

I can't seem to find Auto-Explore at all... Sleep is there, but that's it

Can confirm no auto-explore for scouts.
Worst thing: when you park a unit in a town/city (or anywhere), you can't put them on alert or sleep, you can't fortify them because they are already fortified, you must click Skip the turn (or move) every turn.
Yes you can , stop saying ♥♥♥♥ 😤
the real worst part is the random disapearance of units because cities randomly go on revolt or a plague crisi you can't avoid is hitting you and you can't do anything

I also wished that we could simply avoid corona.
