Upgrade to Founders Edition

Hello, is it possible to upgrade from Standard to Founders edition in Steam?

Yes, after release. Official FAQ:
“At launch, you can purchase a Standard to Founders Upgrade or a Deluxe to Founders Upgrade to receive all content in the Founders Edition (except for Early Access, which ends after February 11, 2025). This upgrade option will be available until 2:00 PM PT on February 28, 2025.”

Top right of Steam click your user name > Account Details > Purchase details > Click on the game's transaction > Refund. Then purchase the Founders / Deluxe.

I was gifted a copy of the base game, and since then have gotten super excited about the game and would love to upgrade to Deluxe or Founders so that I can play early. Unfortunately, without coordinating with the giftor to refund the game and then paypal me the cost of the gift (which seems super tacky), that seems impossible. If Firaxis is planning to offer an upgrade path on the 11th, why not offer it NOW instead, so those of us sitting and watching the excitement of the new game will have a chance to easily throw away our money while the hype is peak, rather than making us wait a week (at which point I'll already be playing the game, so might not be as hyped about spending an extra 30/60 dollars)
