Sid Meier's Civilization VII

Is VIC 7 Open Ended
I am hearing that Civilization VII is not open ended, is this true? So there are set time limits in all scenarios and/or you cannot play until total domination victory? Are there options to stay in a set Era like Civilization VI? I am also hearing there is no Huge Map, it's only small, medium, regular? I am not sure how you can play again large amount of Civilizations without a huge map as well as get that epic experience.

There are set time limits in all games, even if you were to play solely in Ancient era for example you cannot disable score victory. There is no huge map, it is correct that standard is the largest size you can go to at this time.

That is terrible news, but I know that they are adding it in a patch soon.

You cannot have what happened in their live stream.

It's deflating.

if we are lucky i would not be surprised if a mod or two comes out to change it

this feels more like a spin off title than what a numbered civ should be
I’m also hoping for the option of score and victory conditions to be turned off
Wait, there really are no large maps available?! I completely missed that one bit of information. On previous games, I always played long marathon games with huge maps and many civilizations, it's just the way I enjoy Civilization the most. Missing out on "huge" maps would literally be a huge bummer for me, actually so much, I'm already thinking about refunding my preorder. Are there any new if bigger maps are going to be included soon via patch after launch or will there be a "Bigger Maps"-DLC for 9,99?
I'm sure we will all get our fav MODs in due time :P

I like the long game on huge sized maps and marathon 25ish cities and sometimes I disable all victory options. I don't require a popup to tell me I have won or lost.

I would like to see them have the ability to see a score though so you can have a bit of insight on areas of growth Im failing in

You should expect a MOD along the lines of what we have for Civ6 for the Maps and such.
The question is when but then I guess it gives us time to familiarize with the new mechanics.
I am not sure if adding larger maps via mods is that simple. It's just an incredible downer reading this, I was already counting the hours until EA release and now reading this is just a huge letdown. I've bought every Civilization game from part III onwards right on launch day, I wanted to avoid lots of spoilering on VII and didn't watch too many previews and reviews of it, but the more I read about it, the more worried I am regarding the state it's going to be released at.

Something which was a basic feature from previous games shouldn't rely on modding community which hopefully will "fix" it.

So you dont use the MOD to get the crazy big maps for 6.. I got the feeling you were.
If your PC can take it..I highly recommend it.

My favorite MODS
Barbarian Settings
Mappa Mundi
Larger Map Sizes
Environment Skin: Sid Meier's Civilization V
Disable Religion Holy Site
Sukritact's Resources
CIVITAS Resources

So, please help me understand this.
You preorder a game, without knowing anything about it? These information are not hidden. Devs talk about them and show them all the time. There are a lot Lets Players talking about it. How is it possible that you preorder a game but are 100% noch interest in it, or inform yourself before you purchase?
