I am terrible at these games...so Governor, and we will see. I have seen many players do well on Deity, so perhaps the AI is a little more forgiving. Also..these are the best Civ players in the world.
There are a number of interesting combos, but I think I'll go for Hatsheput/Egypt and enjoy the river/desert bonuses. Then probably the Abbasids--then who knows? :)
The river systems are pretty cool. I really like how they allow you to move the ships upstream.
This is valid. You are only going to have a small number of options, some of which will be unusual...get three towns on a river? Songhai. You will get unlocks you hadn't planned on, or expected.
That actually sounds fun for a first play.
