Do unique civics need to be slotted?
Somehow I missed this.

If I get, for example, tier 2 of the Greek civic Ekklesia:

Tier 2: Increased Culture per turn for active Endeavors, Sanctions, and Projects you started or supported.

Is that an automatic bonus I get for the rest of the age or does it need to be slotted into a civic policy like in Civ 6?

I know how traditions work, but not how unique civics do.

Thanks!

From the game guide it looks like Tier 2 of Ekklesia gives you a passive ability, you get increased culture automatically after you unlock it. In the game guide they call it a tradition if it's a policy/tradition that you have to plug into a policy slot. If they don't call it that, I think you can assume it's a passive ability.

In the game itself, it will be unambiguous, because the policies/traditions will have that quill pen symbol, and the passives will have the plus sign symbol.

Gotcha, thanks.

Exactly how it works.

Plus icons and quill icons.
