The maps are randomly generated, you select the type of map you prefer like many islands or large continents.
Devs said one age will take about 3 or 4 hours to complete. So about 11 hours per game let's say, to complete all three ages.
Then you want to play each base game modern age nation at least once, so 11 hrs x 10 nations is 110 hours.
Or, let's say you want to level up all the leaders in the game. Let's say it takes three games (just a guess ) to level up a single leader. 26 leaders times 3 games is 78 games to level base game leaders up.
78 games times 11 hours per game is !!!!
I think there will be plenty of replay value
I'd agree with that, considering the game is unfinished.
However, many of these early access players are clicking their mouse and making decisions at lightning speed. Not everyone plays that way.
Typically, it took me three days to finish a Civ VI game, depending on how hard I was going at it each day.
A finished Civ VII game will likely take 15 hours or more.
If you are quick on the draw.
I usually take my time, I have no rush to complete games like these. I like to read stats, check out units and other stuff like that. I think some of my games in Stellaris was between 50-100 hours and this is a game played in real time (you could pause off course which I did often)
That's all a pretty niche way to play the game. It's default is as others have described, random maps that are different every game, with a different cast of civs, yours and AIs'. You do get to choose the roster of civs in the game setup, but not where they are located relative to you.
I don't know if the game on release has any TSLs. I doubt it, both because I believe that in former Civ versions they were only released, often as mods, well after initial release, and because there are no huge maps yet, and TSLs become better representations of real geography the larger the map size.
Agreed.
Typically I get over a 1000's hours from my Civ editions so well worth the price paid.
Even 100's hour of game play is still a good deal.
