Sid Meier’s Civilization VII

Sid Meier’s Civilization VII

Statistiche:
Easy pass on this one sadly
After buying and enjoying every Civ since their initial release it is sad. Random Civs mechanic cramming insignificant and/or unrelated countries in your play through. Cutting content to pad their DLC releasing an unfinished game on day 1. And prices way to high on release, especially with all that. This will be a bargain bin grab, if at all.

So you're saying there's a chance...

Great.

See you when you get here.

We'll leave the lights on for you.

Unfortunately the full game at 50% off is some time away :(
I really like the lineup at release. Quite a few "usual suspects" are there - America, Rome, Germany(Prussia), Greece, etc, and some new ones that look fun too, particularly Mexico and Siam.
I love the flood of posts announcing their departure on this forum, as if it were an airport.

They always end their diatribe with the disclaimer that they may still buy it later on at a discount.

I sometimes wonder how far this behavior extends. Do they go to car dealership and yell at passerbys that they aren't going to buy this car?
Well just sayin' you can buy it for around £40 if you look. But I cant imagine it will be worth £40. Just looks like another variation with nothing interesting - oh no hang on we can now travel up rivers :steamfacepalm: - that's well worth £60.

I loved in the announcement video how they brought on an old looking Sid Meier at the end as if he was giving his seal of approval to the new game. I wonder how much he got paid for that? I bet he doesn't even know what the game is about anymore. Sad.

If your take away from what is new this time is you can travel up rivers, you haven't been paying attention.
I agree... they butchered this game from what it used to be. Seems for many, they lost the plot of what made this game so great. I'm also sitting this one out. To many other games to play. And this is my favorite series of all time, been playing for over 30 years!

Good thing there are 6 different versions of the game you can entertain yourself on.
It's one of the top sellers on steam right now, although Red Dead 2 is only one game down on the same list so not sure how high that particular bar is. Gonna wait, but my only real concern of the game is that they will go all Sims on the DLC and $500 later you have a complete game. Civ 6s DLC was fine and made the game better, i didn't even mind the leader pass it added more to the game. Them stopping the match before the Cold War is a big red flag for this concern. Will definitely be picking it up eventually. I get why people are concerned though.

if only few people buy the game, because the majority dislikes the differences to previous entries or the pricing, itll get there in no time.

It will sell plenty, hype and brand recognition. Whether this will work for civ 8 is another topic tho...

true.

by then, ill be knee-deep in Stellaris 2 :P
No I wont be getting it either. I think this whole super-expensive game release is getting ridiculous now, and what with the deluxe and founder editions with practically nothing extra in them for £90 and £120 has got to stop. I wont be a party to it. Greed.
