I'm Considering upgrading my preorder for early access
I preordered the standard edition a while back. I have been considering upgrading to Deluxe Edition (largely for early access, but for the other benefits as well). Looking into it, it looks like I will have to cancel my preorder, then preorder the deluxe edition.
My question(s)... how do I cancel my preorder? Also, does the refund go to my steam points or back to my card? Has anybody else done this?

(P.S. This is intended for answers to this only. Not commentary or debate about preorders, editions, or DLC. Please keep any responses to answers to the questions or sharing similar concerns or experiences. I hate that I have to add this, but I can see the opinionated responses, now.)

Go to steam support, there should be Civilization 7 somewhere on the list there. Select it for a refund, then give a reason like you want to upgrade to a different edition.

Usually, you have the choice to get your money back to your bank or steam credits. Steam credits usually take a day to be put on your account, back to the bank is usually pretty fast.

The easiest way, pre-launch, is to refund the standard and repurchase the deluxe or founder edition you want. After launch there will be an upgrade available for purchase but won't help with what you are trying to obtain.
Thanks for the fast responses. I'll have to wait until payday (another week), but I wanted to make sure so that I am ready. I took off work for three days from the 11th to the 13th. But I would get more time to play over the weekend (my work week starts Tuesday nights).
Refund today.

You'll have it resolved in a few hours.

Then buy the Deluxe.

For me the refund went back to the payment method. Although I have had a few that went back to my Steam wallet. Usually the funds show up fairly quick.

The refund itself is confirmed within a few hours.

If it's under 2 weeks from purchase (or release) and less than 2 hours of gameplay, it should be pretty quick when you get a response - a few hours. How long have you played?

0. See thread title...
3 days away from release? Really?
