Not agree at all. I didn't expect that the game designers would make so many changes, but they are going exactly in the direction that I hoped for:
- less micromanagement overall
- better graphics
- more adult look and feel ( also the UI )
- clearer milestones and goals during the game progresses
- increasing the gameplay fun in every stage of the game (I also don't finish the most of my civ 5/6 games)
- more game mechanics from day 1

CIV 7 could be my favourite CIV game of all time. I can not wait until February to figure it out.

They should set up a separate forum for use by all the people who think that 7 is too different and changed, and all the people who think it is too much the same. Those two sides could fight to the rhetorical death between themselves, and leave the rest of free to discuss the actual upcoming game in relative peace.

Seriously. Every forum for every upcoming game youve got whiny man-children screeching at each other about this and that. It's impossible to actually talk with fellow gamers who are genuinely looking forward to upcoming titles anymore.

I mean don't get me wrong, people putting their concerns and thoughts is good. Discourse is a good thing, and it shows how passionate people are for civ. If people didn't care about civ they wouldn't post so often about it.

That being said stuff like "it looks exactly like civ 6" (get your eyes checked) or "It isn't just civ 4 again" aren't exactly valid criticisms, it's just "I didn't get what I want so it's universally bad"

Its not the same, far from it.
But I think it will suck. I dont like the idea of changing CIVs each era. I want to take my CIV from the beginning to end.

Why do people keep falling for these scammers? The game looks exactly the same to not just the last one, but ALL of the ones before it. They oversell with trailers that don't even show gameplay footage. Wake up, PLZ. They always charge a premium price for the exact same content every time they release a game. The fanbois are so devout they cant even see how they are being scammed. Taking a step back helps make better content at a better price.
