Please Explain Different Modes of Play
My son(s) and I have played Civ 6 in hot seat mode. Civ 7 is not going to offer hot seat mode. We are looking for another way to play Civ 7 without having to buy two new computers (our current computer won't handle Civ 7). Could someone discuss the Online PvP, LAN PvP, and Cross-Platform Multiplayer modes offered by Civ 7?

Specifically, can any one of the three modes be played using one computer? This is the most important consideration for us. Please discuss basically how each of the 3 modes operate.

Thanks for any help. we really would like to move up to Civ 7 and are looking for a way to do it.

All of the aforementioned modes are one player/one PC.

Sorry. It's just looking more and more like this CIv isn't for Civ fans of old. I think they want a new playerbase that will buy more microtrans.

The best way to play this game is to invest in a new computer.

Even people with crappy computers are praying for GeForce NOW on launch day.

Which isn't going to happen.

Hard to make demands if you aren't willing to pay. Your best bet is to keep playing number six. At least until you sort out your options.

There's no rush. This game will remain incomplete for the next three years. That's how long it will take Firaxis to release two expansions.

yeah, as excited as I am for civ 7, this is one of the things I do hate, that hot seat isn't coming to civ 7. While to some extent I get it, they are focusing on optimising it for consoles since the markets grown, and Hot Seat they will probably come back too eventually, having CIV 7 fully optimised for something as out dated as the Switch is dumb and a waste of dev hours imo. There is no rush obviously, and saying "buy another computer" is also a dumb suggestion. That being said since it is coming to console, hopefully that's an option for you. Don't discount the possibility of hot join being added retroactively, but if that's your biggest consideration, don't buy the game until more news on the subject comes out
