ALERT !!! Locked out of content !?
So let me get this right:
1) If I Pre-purchase I will be able to play ,,Tecumseh and Shawnee Pack,, but if i don't, i will never have to option to play ,,Tecumseh and Shawnee Pack,, ever again? Very bad if you think of multiplayer ( casual or competitive )
2) So again If I dont get Founders edition I will be locked out of 4 leader personas forever ?
Am i right about this ?

As far as I can tell, you will be able to always upgrade to the delux edition and receive Tecumseh and Shawnee.

The founder's edition seems like it will only be available till the 28th of February. I don't see any information about the exclusive content in it becoming available later on, namely :
2 leader personas
4 profile customizations
1 fog of war tile set
1 Founders palace skin

So those items might not be available later on.

Don't worry it's just a sales tactic you can always get stuff you missed later with money. Just use any available family funds. Become the head of your household and raise the rent for your family and blame it on increased housing costs or maybe because minimum wage went up again or some other cop out.

You might be able to get them all when they released the final bundle like Civ 6: Anthology.
It seems pretty lame to lock multiple base game civs behind delux and founder edition purchases. It's already $70. Do you REALLY need to lock non-DLC content behind 100 USD or even worse, the 130 USD editions of the game?

It's like Civ 6 at launch with the Aztecs. The pre-order lets you get them at launch, but they will always be available as a dlc.

Is it right or a good thing? No, lol, even for Civ 5 and earlier civ games, 3 and 4, I think the model of locking Civ's behind a paywall is extremely stupid and there are other ways of monetisation, ie scout skins, fog of war, cosmetic stuff etc I don't have a problem with. That being said, if you don't pre order, no, you wont be locked out of certain civs forever
DLC is part of how games are sold now and have been for years.

The developers deserve to be paid for their work. You want more content, you pay for it.

Would you work for free?

What's the issue?

Mainly that its day zero meaning they cut said content out of the base game to do this so its not making additional content its chopping up the product to price gouge for the sake of price gouging.

It would be like buying EU5 only to find out that they removed all of france, italy, and England unless you bought the 120 deluxe edition.

My issue is the asking price. I had the same issue with Civ VI as well. That game wasn't ever worth $171 and change. No Civ title ever was.

This one's already $130 for the deluxe edition, and God knows where the price is going to finally end up after all the DLCs and such are released piecemeal.

The devs got paid regardless. Firaxis is owned by Take Two, who also own 2K, the publisher. It's the investors who are trying to get paid here, and no, I would say they definitely don't deserve this much money. TF did THEY do?

Because of people like you, who support this sales tactic.
How is it possible that a game releasing now already has content available for purchase?
This has nothing to do with additional content - it's pure exploitation, and plenty of fo... still support it.
On top of it the games are full of bugs.

The only dlc Day 0 content is Shawnee, Tecumseh, and the four personas. The Right to Rule and Crossroads of the World packs are post-launch releases.

This comparison doesn't work because with you example, you are buying a car that doesn't function. If you buy the base edition of Civ 7, you are buying a functional game, nothing in the other editions adds basic gameplay elements.

A more apt comparison would be you are buying a car without nice hubcaps and a spoiler. You want the upgraded version, you need to pay more.
If people buy it, they do these offers. If people did not, they would not.
I had no idea they've implemented this tactics, oof..
