Definitely not.

You certainly don't need to play the sixth one. Not just because it's nine years old, but because it's terrible.

Beyond that, the fifth one is now fifteen years old.

I write games off after the age of three. Technology is advancing too rapidly to bother playing Pac-Man for the rest of your life.

Play the latest and greatest. It's the only way to fly.

As long as you have a powerful computer.

Are you new to the strategy genre or have you played other strategy games before?

I'd say there is really no reason to begin your relationship to Civilization with Civilization 7. The previous games are excellent and routinely drop to low prices. They also have years of development.

I'd recommend Civilization 5 or 6. The Civ games take some time to learn, but are definitely worth it if you get into them and enjoy them.

Others will recommend Civilization 4. Everyone has their favorite.
I'd recommend buying 5 with all the DLC on sale and waiting for the DLC for this game to come out. Civ games get much much better after the DLC is complete. I say 5 because I think it's a much better game than 6.

IDK. If you haven't played any of the other Civs before, you may want to hold off entirely since this Civ will be a radical departure from the rest of the series.
You don't have to have played previous games, as long as you understand the basic concepts of 4x's. It's fairly easy to learn, with time you'll improve as you learn the little tricks. If you're unfamiliar with 4x's watching videos will help you out, but not exactly necessary.
Look man you dont. It does help to be formiliar with the genra but civ is easy enaugh to learn. I have only played civ 6 for the genra and it wasent that hard
plus they will bring in tons of diffrent AI advisors that will help you learn

bro plays fifa, what do you expect
No, Civ games are stand-alone and all have in mind both series veterans and new-comers.
I would, however, encourage you to have a look at Civ 5, which I'd say is the best one in the series right now. Civ 3 and 4 are also great, but haven't necessarily aged as well as Civ 5 did.
I have a feeling Civ7 isn't going to be very good.

My personal favorite is Civ5+all the DLC

Civ6+DLC, Civ4, and Civ2 are all very good also.

For me, I just bought Civ 5 and I generally would just stick to that. It has a good amount of content and a lot of mods.

Civ 6 and 7 are just cheap knockoffs of it trying to capitalize us, as that's how I see it.

But you do you.
