Can't Build Factories
Hi, I'm in modern age and I researched Mass Production, but I am not being given the option to build a factory in any of my settlements?

Is this a bug? Is there something I am missing in order to build factories?

Build railway stations first, like the tooltip says.

I did, I have each of my settlements connected by railway stations and there is no factory option in my production tab, they also do not show when I click "Show Hidden"

Factories are still not showing up can someone help me?
Your settlements could be too far apart. I had the same issue and was able to resolve it by settling in-between two settlements and creating a new railway station there which kinda linked them all together afterwards.
Some people were saying 20 hex distance max but from experimenting, I had to do some closer around 10-12 for things to finally work right. Also, if you are cross-ocean, you'll also need a port while also respecting the hex distance limit.

I got it working, I just needed to connect my Capital Ciity with a Rail-Station first. All good got the economic victory!

Was that victory from the /150 thing? If so, I was one turn away and that would have been super annoying.

You have to get 500/500 Railroad Resource Points then you have to Use the Great Banker to build a world bank in each of the player's capital cities to win.
Are you trying to build factories in 'towns' instead of cities by any chance?

Ah, I wasn't even close then. Thanks.

I can't build factories in any city this game. Home or far away continent. I can build one in the factory town connected to each of those cities. All places have hard railway station for several turns, each of the 3 cities are connected to a factory town and each of them were able to build a factory. Food shows as going to the connected city. I only have 3 city. On version 1.0.1

Any suggestions on what to try next? Or do I need to shelve this game until a bug fix comes out?

Try using a trader to manually make a road to connect each settlement, I had to do that for a few railroads to appear

Already had railroads between them as well as road previously. The bug still persists. I've been able to do this successfully in previous games. Well on the home continent, couldn't on the far away. Applied 1.0.1 patch and this was the first game to modern after it was applied. :(

my capital had a factory and railroad station but did not connect to the rail network until I built a port that allowed crossing of a large river. Once the port was built all the factory options showed up for the nearby settlements
I am having the same exact problem. My capital is Paris and has a rail station and a factory. However, I cannot slot any factory resources into the Paris factory. The city next down the road (8-10 hexes away) is Argos, which has two cotton plantations, and I can't even slot Argos' cotton into Paris's factory. I have connected 3-4 relatively close cities with merchants building roads, and am still waiting for a couple of factories to come on line, but sucks big time that I can't slot any factory resource into Paris' s factory since Paris has about 8 empty resource slots.:steamsad::steamthumbsdown:
