Advice on Armies on Transition to Modern Age
I am getting close to the Exploration Age in my game. I have 4 Army Commanders with full troop capacity. Should I create one or two more Army Commanders with full troop capacity for the Modern Age, or is this too many - given the upkeep cost of army units.

How many Army Commanders with full troop capacity do players typically carry over to the Modern Age?
How about Naval Commanders with full ship capacity?
Thanks for any advice.

It depends for me. I usually have enough gold to have as large of an army as I want.

Many players are saying that the AI gangs up on you on the last age if you get close to winning. So you could try and plan out how many fronts you would theoretically have, and then get that many army commanders. But you'll have the entire modern age to build those out so no rush. Same with naval commanders. I generally have conquered the land I actually want by the modern age so I plan my armies and navies from a defensive perspective, except for if I need to assault someone else's victory project.
