In other words, Civ VII is being played more than either of the previous two games in the franchise, yet we're supposed to think that's somehow a bad thing. Right. Not to mention, Civ VII is sold on Epic, PlayStation, and Xbox, so Steam numbers don't tell the whole story.

Civ 6 get 1 million copies sold after 1 month.

Civ 7 has 700k copies after 8 days!

Clearly civ 7 outperform civ 6 on initial sales.

Civ 6 get 1 million copies sold after 2 weeks.

Civ 7 has 700k copies after 8 days!

You just continue lying even after being publicly corrected in other threads.

Oh it is definitely the worse. I been playing for 3 days, 3 times the game crashed transitioning from the Ancient Era to the next. No, I have a brand new gaming laptop with a graphic card beyond capable to run a game like this. Then one time got stuck on "Respond to Diplomatic bla bla", where I keep clicking on it but no response screen opens up and I cannot play on, had to quit and start over. The game-play itself is too different from what one is used to. Weird-ass scenarios where you transition to another people in a different age. Leaders and civs need to be "unlocked", why???
The only nice thing is one can build over districts.

I want my money back.

Things like this shouldn't be happening. They shouldn't be selling a broken product. It's like if you buy a new car and when you first drive it, the engine goes out and you need to take it back for a refund or a fix. That would be extremely embarrassing for the car dealership.

I can def speak from a week of playing, it's certainly NOT in the top 3. I'm not a big fan of devs / movie directors, leadership, etc. looking at something that works and then thinking they (and only they) discovered the magic bullet to re-invent the wheel. CIV is LITERALLY the invention of the wheel, and yet TweedleDeeandTweedleDumb2K managed to make it somehow less round, less robust, and a less useful version of the wheel.

Yes. That’s the answer to your question.

Yes.

Long as no one tries to rag on Beyond Earth, we're not gonna have any problems.

Between 5, BE, 6, 7... honestly I'd rank them in descending order by release date. Civ 4 was before my time but many champion it.

Civ 5 is my favorite Civ game. I keep seeing people touting Beyond Earth but I thought it was poorly received. Should I give it a try?

beyond earth is kinda like civ 2 call to power
In my opinion Civilization: Call to Power was probably a bigger disappointment but I don’t know if that counts because it is not officially part of the series.

Why didn't you like CtP? I wasn't around during the release of Civ II and only got into it when it released on the PSX in like '97. When I finally got a computer and played CtP I loved it. Was it just that it was more of the same?

Well I'm enjoying the game, played over 50 hours, no crashes and some you just need to go back and read all the threads about how bad CivV and CivVI were on their launch as they too were the worse games ever in the civ franchise.

Name me a Civ game where you don't stay the same civilization for an entire match. I'll wait.

Yeah exactly, that's why it's bad.

Why does it look like the gfx have been downgraded compared to civ 6? What an ugly launch trailer.

More accurately, that's why it's different. Even while it might be the adjective used to decribe the new entry by the majority of folks posting on these boards just now, 'Bad' is a subjective judgement. It certainly is objectively different though. If you don't like the changes, then you'll say it's a bad change and if you like them, well, you'll feel differently.

Is this the worst Civ game ever? It's probably had the worst launch. That's the impression I'm getting anyway but otherwise, no, it's not the worst. For me, that was Civ V and still is and I know that's going to surprise some folks because for them, it's the best and the most popular. However, the popularity of each entry doesn't mean one is the 'best' especially now at the very start of the new entry.
