Fog of War

The Civilization V and VII 'fog of war' looked like actual fog. Here, it is shadow, more like Age of Empires. I would like to know how to reconfigure to have actual fog. Is there a gameplay option?

No. No mod either as far as I can tell, perhaps someone will mod something in. You can always go to the civfanatics website, find the mod section and ask there.

The fog of war is supposed to be included in the game. I like how the hexagons have the Civization Founders edition logo, but I want to see the white fog over it.

I expect that we will get other options for how for look. The founder edition has minor change how it look, so it is mod able feature. Most likely as simple as change in graphic file based on the official ”mod”
