Firaxis Must Surely Be Bored of Churrning Out Civ Games.
And killing it doing so.

Each one sells better then the last one, why should they stop.

Last Civ game was almost 10 years ago, what "churning out" is happening?

Hope they make a new Massive Xcom game now, complete with underwater bases.

This is a definitely true statement which all available charts and evidence fully support. In no way was this game eclipsed by previous versions, even slightly. This is the most widely praised, accepted, and purchased Civilization game in the history of Civilization games, maybe ever.

I am not being forced or compelled in any way to say this by my hosts at 2K Games.

They made a mini Xcom and than made a Marvel game rather than xcom 3. At this point, I think they don't have the talent to do it.

They did such a great job with VII, why stop, imagine this game in 6-12 months from now, even better than now...

Sure, Sid.
This company is Firaxis in name only, the people working there largely aren't the same anymore. Same happened to Obsidian a long time ago. The games they are releasing do not cater to their core audience.

As much as it pains me to say this, we both know this game will sell a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ soly on the brand recognition alone. People will consume any slop as long as it has a civ title slapped over it.
Though I agree this is the worst Civ game i have ever played, it fun enough to at least have given me value for my money. Will I play 1000's of hours of this? absolutely not, But im on my third play-though and will probably have one more in me. The game does not suck, but its not Civ, so it will never meet expectations. They took a chance, which i applaud, but they call it a chance for a reason, it fell flat. I personally will not be around for the DLCs that will drop like rain here shortly. There will be tons of folks who play this for 1000's or hours, so saying its failing is a bit a stretch, its just not for old time Civ players, and that's a disappointment to many.

And Indeed it Has, my Sibling of Indeterminate Gender in Sid! Even now, the Ledgers swell with sales numbers approaching that of Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth, which is Universally Acknowledged as a Game in The Franchise. The Accountant Kings are already Preparing to Deliver Unto Us a level of support which will Meet or Exceed the Generous and Abundant support which that Immaculate Making received!

I don't know about bored, but there are only so many ways you can toy with the recipe until it starts becoming something else. Like many things, at some point changes are not for the better but to survive as a business you have to keep making changes.
No, I'm not going to wait 5 years for a DLC that satisfies me anymore, now if I buy higher versions, they are either definitely complete games or I wait a few years to buy them complete, in the 3 previous editions I got tired of waiting, and even then the games were not completely complete. I stopped trusting this company's promises, I want to play full games when I buy, not pay now and wait a few months or years, good luck to whoever bought it , even worse how they made the game

Firaxis didn't kill Civ. 2K and Take-Two did. Their bottom line, their directives. Firaxis just does what those two companies say.

Firaxis is full of extremely qualified, gifted, caring developers - these people made Civ 5, they made Civ 6 - they're still there. Once again disgruntled capital G Gamers inflate the decision making power of the developers and completely ignore the publisher and OWNER of Firaxis. The executives who kill companies and franchises like Firaxis's are doing that Homelander smile meme whenever someone like you blames the wrong people for their blunder.

It's okay to be mad, it's not okay to blame the wrong people.
