Hot Seat
My wife and I have played a lot of CIV VI together, always using the Hotseat option. We were really looking forward to playing CIV VII and very disappointed to not have the Hotseat option once we started the game. Is there a good reason for not including Hotseat?

The devs didn't think hotseat was a thing?

No real clue. No one on the dev team has stated a reason for it.

They thought you would buy it even without hotsit and you did.

Hotseat is coming post launch, maybe with the big March patch? Until that happens you can play hotseat using a mod. It's not perfect but it's better then nothing. Give it a try: https://forums.civfanatics.com/resources/hotseat.31913/

An increasing 4X trend. Studios tend to underestimate how many ppl won't buy a game without hot seat sadly
