The game is great, but this forum is a mess
There's so much to like in Civ 7, even for a veteran of the series such as myself. So far I do have a major problem with Civ 7, I cannot stop playing it! So just that has to tell you something. I just wrote my review, after nearly 25 hours (and quickly rising) of playing. The good FAR outweigh the bad and this game is fun, straight up. I'm not writing a review here because I already wrote a detailed review in the appropriate spot.

Now these forums, first problem I quickly see is people posting who don't even own the game. I can see asking questions about the game to those of us who do own it, but going around spreading a negative light on something you know nothing about is true jacka$$ territory. If they do not own the game, what are they basing your opinions on? People writing negative reviews after under 1 hour of playing or others playing it on YouTube ranting for views? So do yourself a favor and do not listen to those people. Their opinions are insignificant because they do not own the game and therefore haven't even played it.

Ok enough of this now, I'm going resume my current game because it's like a good movie or good book, I want to see what's going to happen. So yeah just one more turn.

Good to see you ignoring the one hour negative reviews. Because you surely can't get an accurate picture of a game within an hour, right? And playing longer means if you don't like it you can still get a refund! Oh Wait....

And if you play longer and leave a negative review you've already played lots of hours so why was your review negative?

I sure do hope you're dismissing the positive reviews of an hour too! Otherwise you're a bit of a hypocrite and showing your bias.

Oh and by the way, before you dismiss me because I don't have the little mouse next to my name? I owned the game, I refunded it manually at four hours after constant crashes and bugs.

And why is watching people playing it bad? How are you going to find out information on the game if you're on the fence? IF you're unsure about the gameplay? Surely watching someone play it maybe?

Much like most of the toxicly positive posts in the forum, this means nothing.

I agree 100%.

You’re essentially an activist on here, if you hate the game so bad, make like a bee and buzz off.

That's common in this industry.

Assassin's Creed: Shadows is being crucified by YouTubers as we speak. And it hasn't even released yet. Regardless, it will still sell millions of copies.

It really doesn't matter anymore for Civilization VII. It achieved its 84,558 peak on its first weekend.

It won't climb more than. Game over. Enjoy the ride.

It's all downhill from here.

Sorry Pal, public forum. I have every right to be here, just like you do. And see this where you're wrong again, I don't hate the game. I was very disappointed by it. Criticism isn't hate. But then you're so shortsighted because your head is firmly wedged up the devs backside, it's no surprise you can't see that.

By your logic no negative review for any game can ever be valid.

Except they can, because I don't dismiss reviews based on play time, unless they're blatantly an obvious troll or those stupid aski art things.

The logic I am making fun of is exactly the same logic people defending the game use.

"You've not played it for long enough, you can't have an opinion. You're just parroting what youtubers say."

"You've played it for fifty hours, you've got your monies worth, why are you leaving a negative review? You clearly enjoyed it."

I'd call for calm but that's called Backseat Moderating.. so I won't. Have at it folks, I'll play Civ 7 and read about your ongoing onupmanship war..
What you just wrote is very ugly... if you have the game, play it, whoever doesn't have the game and comments on it, let the company try to convince you to buy it, freedom of expression is not just about praising, criticism is also part of it and wise people use criticism as a tool to evolve and not to destroy, if you're enjoying the game congratulations, just because you like it doesn't mean that the world is forced to like it just because you like it, you still complain about those who play for an hour and criticize it, very normal. There are those who play for 15 minutes and criticize, there are those who play for 2 hours and criticize, there are those who play for 20 years CV and criticize, and who are you to say that other people's opinions are insignificant, apparently they are not, because if they were, you wouldn't be here and now commenting on them and judging them, and about the negative light, each with its own lamp, I have my own light so I don't live in the dark and there are even those who say that opposite sides attract, a brilliant mind always attracts a and not the negative light.but rather competitiveness 😉 "Just have fun in the game"

When this forum only has crickets singing around a changed body that left its soul behind, you can come and complain about those who don't have the game and criticize 😆😂
-Thank you for criticizing me, I'm going to use this to evolve, and I thought it was only those who didn't have the game who cried, apparently those who do also cry 😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣

I am at 145 hours as of now. It just gets better and better. The reason it gets better and better because the UI was not helpful. But far worse is the Civilopedia is sparse and what little it has is useless, it has long and boring historical flavor info that might interest about 0.00001% of the player base. That time should have been invested in making the Civilopedia complete and filled with gameplay information. With that said, once you plow through this and get tips from play experience and internet searches.., this game is the best of all the CIVS (been playing since CIV 3). I know in time this game will become dominant in sales and in Youtube content.., 10 out of 10. As always, I can't stop playing this..., the weather has sucked for the past several weeks so this is a good thing.

Firaxis (while misguided in their woke stuff and insistence on spending way too much resources on huge and useless historical content) is the top 2 of the gaming industry. Thank you.
I Agree OP, i have great fun with the game.
We need an "Owners Only" forum to eliminate the trolls who don't even own the game.
