I found this mod great. It removes the part of future techs and culture that speeds up the era progress, allowing you to flush out the era more. The game isn't balanced for this so it may make the game easier but I still enjoy it.
Modders are already hard at work lol.
I usually play on Long-Standard how I understood Long age increases age length and the Marathon just changes how fast you earn development to research and building.
