Does Civ 7 have a hard-stop ending? Or can you continue to play?
This is a deal-breaker for me.

Can you continue playing at the end of the Modern Age or does the game come to a hard stop?

100% ends. no more turns allowed after victory/loss. max the 1950s. However, I expect those things to be sold in very expensive expansions later.

Hard stop when the Modern Era ends. Whether it be from you completing your goals or someone else. It's fairly quick.

What if no one completes their goals?

There's an "age counter" that triggers a "score victory based on your legacy points if you no one completes any other victory condition.

Thas's a pity. That makes it a "no buy" for me.

I like to continue on and play until I conqueror everyone. That's my goal. I don't want the game to cut me off just because I don't do it in a certain amount of time.

But in principle, I agree. You should start at any age, end at any age including the current one. You should be able to modify length of the age, separately from the speed. Should have an option of no turn limit, and should have an option even if you do have turn limit, to continue playing after it, even if without additional score/leveling up.

Couldn't you do that in past Civs?

Hard stop but the feature is in the game (to continue playing) but it has not been enabled yet. This will happen post launch (March patch if I had to guess) according to the devs.

They confirmed several things I really wanted, including this, in the release day dev stream.

Be careful, some fanboy will attack you for not wanting to buy the game because there's no endless turn lol.
