Civ 6 got boring midway through every game, because you got to strong and the outcome was an inevitable win you just had to choose whether it would be a cultural, economic, religious, domination, or diplomatic victory.

Civ7 keeps you engaged until the end!
I already have CV VI but I'm going to buy it again, I felt blessed after seeing CV VII 🤣🤣🤣

You exited out if VII to post this, it’s okay, you’re good, don’t need to hide it, I’m sure you have the FE version…
Making gameplay evolves over time is a good idea. However, I'm unconvinced that abrupt era change is the good way to implement it. It should be more progressive thant that.

Also the reason why Civ6 turned "boring" mid-game was the lack of challenge from the AI. In Civ4, the AI was a lot more challenging and the game didn't get boring at all, you could get into epic world wars during modern era. But Civ4 was a real Empire builder meant to be played during 50 to 100 hours for a single game, it was a totally different gaming experience than what Civ7 seems to be looking for (I haven't bought the game yet).

Here you can get intoo world wars as well first game everyone turned on me, the AI is more aggressive than Civ6. It took me on epic about 15 hours to complete the game so not quite the 50 to 100 hours you mention but still quite long. And that's on epic. Marathon (if it were balanced) could also be in the 30 to 50 hour range. And I believe there will be 2 more ages, so take 5 to 10 hours per age and you're there.

What would be a more progressive way to solve the problem?

And dont say bether AI. Firaxis is just not able to do that. I dont now if C4 was bether or its just memory, but current firaxis ist just not able to create a challenge ai, that will be challening the whole game. To reprase some posts, The is not able to "stand the test of time".

So what would be a bether solution for that?

Changes could come progressively with technologies and new strategic resources coming in. Think for instance how the Portuguese successfully bypassed the Arabs to grab distant resources from India. You could do the same without changing everything including your civilization on a single turn.

Now you're telling me I should forget the AI, but if the AI doesn't afford any challenge, it's hard to stay involved in the game.

I say forget "bether ai" as a solutung for the boredom problem.

Firaxis is at the same point as you, and most metriks show that only a low percent of people every see the victory screen. Must stop midage when they start to snowball and the Ai is not a challenge anymore.

But Firaxis cant "fox" the Ai. So instead of fail again, building an AI for aspecific game, they now build a game for a specific ai. Thats the reason for the ages.

Instead of on Ai need to Manage 1 hughe campaign, see only needs to manage 3 short Campaings, nd install a rubberband effect betweem the ages, to keep the ai in the game.
