Never had a discord account before and I am already banned from the official channel.
Hi! I live in Brazil. I preordered the the deluxe version of Civiization VII and have been playing on a daily basis since its release. Enjoying a lot and noticing a few issues that deserve a feedback do the developers. Recently, I received an e-mail from civilization@newsletter.2k.com with an invitation to join Civilization Official Channel on Discord. They said it is the right channel for feedbacks about the game. As I never - ever! - had a Discord account before, I created one yesterday (associated with my hotmail and myphone number, both checked), but the system denied access to the channel. Reason: "the user is banned from this server". I dont't understand how I can be banned before creating my very first account on Discord. I wonder if there is, by any chance, a general banishment of IPs from Brazil... Anyway, I really need some help to identify and contact (or, preferably be contacted by) any of the admins there to introduce myself and ask to review this unfounded banishment.

Contacting Civilization Support (2K) was the first thing I did. Their answer: "Hi there. Thank you for contacting us here at 2K Support. My name is Alita and will be assisting your ticket today. I understand you're having some issues with accessing Discord, in this case you'll have to reach out to Discord Support for further assistance. Thank you, Alita. Costumer Support 2K Games." Discord Support, in turn, told me the only way to cancel any banishment is to contact the admin of that specific discord channel. Problem is: without being inside the channel, it is impossibile for me to know who admin the channel.

You can send a DM to the admin without being in the server. If you know their username.

Since he has never been on discord before he probably doesn't know the admin user name. Catch 22, :steamfacepalm:
Maybe someone who is on the discord channel give him a hint.

Yes, Folgra. That is the problem. I never - ever! - had an account on Discord before, so I don't even know the username of the admins. Impossible to DM them this way.

To direct message them I need to add them first. Here is the next barrier: system says warcart1 isn't accepting friendship requests. I need to be added by him for us to become friends. At least erin_2k_43302 and viz9078 let my friendship request be send. Waiting for their answer.

Ghiron, would you mind to anticipate a PM to erin_2k_43302 and viz9078, asking them to give me a chance for a quick conversation, so I can introduce myself and respectfully explain my situation? I think they won't accept a friendship request from a completely stranger.

What it can tell you, if you are banned on any server.
The good news, you are not.
The bad news, it is something else blocking you from joining.

Did you try to join another "public server"? just to try it out? If so, your account is probably not validated?! If not:
Does someone in your house with the same IP uses Discord? A ban is not just the account which get banned apparently.

Have you exactly contacted Discord support because this sound more likely an issue with Discord? The only thing I can think is someone used your information to create an account and caused issues. You did say that this was your first time to create a Discord account, correct?

Also have you contacted 2K support from their official site?
