Cheats in a game with a single player mode completely offline (aside from periodic mandatory Denuvo authentication). So what if they are? As long as those cheats aren't used in multiplayer it doesn't matter.

Also yes, I am quite a fan of DRM bypasses considering I will be relying on those bypasses when the publisher kills the servers and leaves the game for dead. If a customer benefits from piracy, you know you ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up.

I think he is trolling ignorantly here in this thread. As long as people are supporting games with crap like denuvo, there will be no improvement in doing without it.

Its been proven that this drm negatively effects performance. But hey I am not buying this game for a myriad of reasons

Would have already bought the founders edition long ago if not for denuvo. I have a no malware policy. Also it seems beyond stupid to put a DRM everyone hates in a game on steam which already acts as the best DRM you can get (as in, steam ADDS value and confirms purchase, so people are willing to pay for it. Piracy is a service problem and valve is basically the only company to figure that out)

Well, Fireaxis want us to wait until the DRM is removed, which is very likely, when all bugs are fixed, the UI, and the game-play are improved, and then it will be offered for a big discount. In other words, they tell you: Buy now and get fooled, or wait until we improve, lower the price and treat you better.

They need to drop that OREPHULL Denuvo trash.

hi if that actually happens in future, as in:
- no more denuvo (or anything similar),
- bugs fixed,
- some discount,
- and 100% confirmed offline availability of the game with 0% requirement of any extra 3rd party accounts being needed at least for single/solo games)
than that will be music to my ears, as someone interested in buying another civ game on steam :)

I don't understand the need for a "discussion".

Denovo takes data that nothing to do with any kind of gaming and sends it to "who knows where" for what purpose. For a single player game. There is no "competitive" multiplayer for this game, nor will there ever be.

Plus it makes the client run worse. And generated a bunch of false positives for programs like anti-virus and home banking.

Not a good decision by the devs, in a game plagued by bad decisions.

Ppl just don't want this rubbish taking ova dare pc.
A D L 17 FEB a las 14:37
Agreed. In this era of god awful PC ports and god awful PC optimization, any performance loss is unacceptable. I don't care if Denuvo only takes away a single frame. I'm not paying obscene hardware, inflated, scalped CPU/GPU prices to lose performance to DRM that ultimately threatens my ability to access the product I purchased.

If they made the games good enough at release most ppl would want the original

anti consumer practices will be met with harsh criticism and further implementation results in non-buynary behavior.

looking forward to the 90% sale in 5 years. Cya then
