Tally up the number of people saying they're not buying it in this thread alone and I'm sure it's a significant amount. Across an entire publisher like Frontier (Planet Coaster, Planet Zoo, Warhammer Realms of Ruin, 40K Chaos Gate, Jurassic World Evolution etc.) and they've missed out on hundreds of dollars of day one purchases off me alone.

I'm sure the shareholders are very happy with a thread full of people saying they're not going to buy a game they would have otherwise.
hahahahaha... omg bro... check the preorder sales. If all 800 comments were different people, all deciding not to buy... that would barely even be a drop in the bucket compared to what they have already made.

And the number of people actively commenting on a game instead of simply thinking to themselves "♥♥♥♥ that I'm not buying it" is also a drop in the bucket compared to what they've lost.

Would you turn down a $50,000 check? Nothing indicates that Denuvo actually improves sales. We used to be able to prove this within the same franchises before the GDPR skewered the reliability of SteamDB ownership data.
For me the problem is that denuvo adds more than €30 to the price and I only want the buy the game, not something else.

they are turning down that 50K check because it is the best way to secure the game for the majority of players.
YOu are complaining that they are actively choosing their fans over 50k. What a ridiculous arguement.

Until sales fully reflect the problems with denuvo, corporate won't budge.

I don't know they put it in civ7 too, still not play yet but already feel like refund -_-"

Hi Firaxis, ♥♥♥♥ you for putting Denuvo in this game, and ♥♥♥♥ you for locking a leader behind 2K account linking.

Denuvo (or most DRM for that matter) is simply a slap in the face to consumers. It punishes people who play by the rules and rewards those who choose to pirate. Why should someone who fairly paid for the game have a worse experience with Denuvo than someone who pirated the game and ripped it out?

Please consider removing Denuvo, even if only after the game is cracked (and it will be cracked very soon, I promise).

Edit: I should say I respect the developers and want the game to be as best as it can be, which is why I'm advocating for the removal of Denuvo.

I can say 2k finally cracked the code: releasing a bad game is the best anti-piracy there is... :steamfacepalm:

Apart from very rare exceptions, I find most games using Denuvo turned out average at best. What can you expect when your priority isn't the game's quality and you care more about non-paying customers than paying ones?

Unfortunately, as feared.
The reviews of most of the "experts" were apparently ordered from Wish. Again.
This has at least one advantage: After Dragon Age Failguard and various other hyped games, the reputation of some magazines is now definitely where the sun doesn't shine!

The publisher doesn't have to worry about pirated copies. It was obviously a clever marketing ploy. We were supposed to believe that the game was so good that it would be copied en masse.

Farewell Civ, it was a great time with you, but now it's time to move on. 👋
