They are not going backwards, but forwards. So with that, I would say closer to 6, but major differences.

I suspect we're looking at a Civ IV-to-Civ V type of change here, a reworking of the formula so drastic that it is unlike what went before. The change to Civ V split the community and some folks swore off the franchise. This will be no different.

I'd say closer to Civ 6.

Neither more in common with Humankind and Millennia

Civ 7 looks just like Civ 6. Civ 6 was the worst Civ game ever made. I will save my money and not buy this garbage. The first time I have not bought a new Civ game. I still have my 5 1/4 floppy of Civ and that game looks better then Civ 7. I will continue to play Civ 5 the last great Civ game made over 13521 hours of play. It blows Civ 6 out of the water and Civ7 is just a rehash of Civ 6.

Except this is 2024 and the game touches on some hyper sensitive topics with its forced civ switching and there is gonna be major backlash this time.

Ps: oh and that greedy monetization.

I preferred 6 over 5 personally. Even just the way wonders are treated makes a lot more sense.

Might actually even wait a few years and see what kind of dlc strategy they will go for, Obviously, the game won't be feature complete at release.

Its going to be closer to the humankind trash with more poorly managed ai 1upt civ 6 combat.

1 thing for sure, it'll be like Civ6 at release, requiring dozens of patches and dlc's to fix.
