Its a bit unfair to criticize the mobile devices themselves, because they're essentially computers too, and there's nothing preventing the apps to offer gameplay depth over there as well. Its more about the market that is actually being targeted.
They get more customers this way than making pure PC game!
But that is not enough justification.
Why cant we build for both. Must it always be one size fits all. There is no issue to build a UI for mobile platform, then scale it up and add more depth for the PC, mouse and keyboard users.
This is only a decision that can be made by management with Devs. We build for both markets and build it well. Imagine a game that has that mentality, everyone is happy and you get more positive reputation right from launch.
