So my question is, how did they make it less than half the price for civ 7? why isn't it $150, as that would be consistent to inflation. I preordered the standard version. for the hundreds of hours of entertainment I will receive, and the millions of man hours that have been put into its development i think that is more than fair.
This is exactly what I mean with my post above. It is not that expensive for this game considering all things. The gaming industry have been avoiding changing prices for inflation and such. So people should probably get ready for that prices will become higher overall for games. Why not when everything else has raised in prices, its not like those who makes the games dont want their profits, or being able to just pay their people a standard wage.

People complaining about the price of games, when the prices for games has rarely been raised over the last 30 years...
Yeah but they tended to release full games, now days they release a buggy mess, because they have hacked than many bits out, to sell it to us later as dlc, stellaris costs hundreds to have the full package, there's many more like that, so yeah they have increased the prices exponentially, since dlc started to become the norm, now they are increasing he price of a bare bones base game, then they will milk people for all that dlc, Google how much the spent to make the last civ game and how much they made, they are corporate thieves, who have one goal, to rip people of and make a ♥♥♥♥ load of money, it's a kick in the teeth, that this company, has now hacked out the last era, and the insult the customer base by telling us it's a good thing, but when you have idiots, that thinks this is ok, is it any wonder they do it, I love the civ series, but I hope it it goes bust, seeing the ripping us fans of at every opportunity, then the pandering to the wokests, ♥♥♥♥ them, we don't need their business, they need our custom, I'll find something else to do with my time.
doesnt change the basic fact of my post...also "woke" only those who are afraid of crawling out of their basements are complaining about that.

Hahahahaha $70? For a game that looks worse than Civ5? Ain't no way this game will sell. $40 should have been the price point since you KNOW they will come out with "DLC" packs with new leaders that should have been in the original purchase. I will not support this greed.

>looks worse than civ 5

keep telling yourself that

Have you SEEN the comparisons done between Civ 7 and Civ 5/6 for their graphics? It's night and day, take the Civ 5/6 hair on the leaders and compare it to Civ 7 for example, Civ 7's looks almost like Plasticine but the Civ 5/6 looks more natural and more care has been done to make it look like that.

Just here to voice my thoughts on this into the forum void; as if anyone at 2K is gonna care about our concerns. They already know this is going to give them record sales, so why not squeeze maximum amount of profits on this straight away, right?

Anywho, this game in it's basic form is waaaay too expensive. That is one insane jump from the regular base price. Adding a near 50% to 100% on the levels above is equally insane, if not more. I'm fine with buying DLCs at an amount that would - over time - be equal or more to these prices, as they come in piece meals. However, I'm sure 2K besides the base game already have those lined-up for years to come, so this seems to me to be all about greed, unfortunately. At the very same, I sure hope the developers gets their fair share of the profits, down to the last person.

Good day.

70$ is a shock and slap to the face. I have no problem even waiting for Civ VIII to release then Civ 7 will be on sale for a fraction of the price. $70 is too high in my opinion for any game and I hope that civ fans let Firaxis know they've had it with nickle and dime'ing us to death after paying out premium prices for only a semi complete game to then have to pay out even more for the bits and bobs of the game is in my opinion rude and maybe the developers or publisher need to re-evaluate their premium lifestyle when thinking $70 is acceptable for this and then add on all the DLC that they'll sell on top. Oh and then let's add Denuvo just to upset the anti Denuvo players (which I am NOT one) but I've seen what Denuvo can draw forth from otherwise seemingly normal friendly gamers.

id pay 70 for the founders only
Hiding leaders, wonders behind ridiculous pricing options is an insult to your player base. Keeping in mind we still have Denuvo to talk about... this is greed pure and simple

The actual full game since how does a game have DLC before release, that means they have removed parts of it to make pricing tiers

But I think $59.99 for founders content is more appropriate, the publishers love bleeding their players dry.

That's exactly what they've done and it's disgusting.

They have been doing it since DLC started, it's only recently, they seemed to treat people like complete morons, and tell us we have x y and z DLC ready for you to buy, before the main game launches, I had it in my head to pirate this game and any other AAA game, but now... I won't even waste my time, ill keep track of things, in the hope the game and company go bust, karma is a ♥♥♥♥♥ as they say lol
At least they don't over do it with the DLC like Paradox does.
I was excited when this popped up in my feed. Then I saw the pricing and the hack-up of civilizations. No thanks, Dev can suck it. There's just as good games out now that don't bleed you dry and break-up a full game into DLC.

For me, it's not the pricing, just the expected value of the game. It won't be long until the DLCs hit you up for even more money than in the past. I didn't care much for Civ5 or 6 so I guess I wasn't going to buy it anyway.
Developing a game and breaking it apart to sell day 1 DLCs on release day is scummy at best.
Dozer Jan 5 @ 1:07pm
yeah, not going to pay that much.
