A great game and appreciations
I just want to share my thoughts about Battlesector and I want to express from behalf of a 40k tabletop gamer my apprectiations and thanks to the team and developers of this product.
These days the whole gaming industry in general is full of toxicity and people are never satisfied of a products forgetting that games developers are far from being rich and they have to cope with many issues such as pressing deadlines and expectations.
Battlesector is not perfect and there are some aspects that need to be improved for sure, but it is also a little gem and it is remarkable that a small company could craft such a good product, and I dare to tell me if there is a better reproduction of a 40k turned base pointing at the tabletop itineration of the game like this one that has so many factions and so well crafted models.
I am sure that not only me but most silent players share my thoughts, the new team released a great DLC with the Imperial Guards which is just the right step for a good 2025 and we are also looking for more factions and general improvements to come so keep the good job and may the emperor guide you :)

I agree with you a lot. Battles are great, factions are okay. Demons of Khorne and Tau were low points, but Astra Militarum is a step in the right direction (only Guard with Bayonets). I guess people are whining because it's so close yet misses the mark. Battles are nice and factions are playable, but there is a lack of good opportunities to play (robust online), planetary domination (empty titles), and a lack of single-player campaigns for other factions. There is so much potential, and we end up with that. That game and that IP deserves better.
For my this game works because its got hot seat and I have son and we spend time together playing and its great. Cant wait for Chaos, Eldar and subfactions(Space Marines, Astra Militarum, Chaos).

Cant wait improved planetrary domination(mabe star system domination with few plantets)
New look of tech tree with cogs I wish scared batlle barge of space marines or hive fleet of Tyranids(ike castle in HOM3). Where you repair some damagesd decks or buy new hive fleet ships for cogs. Universal faction units like tech preists and Iquisitors for Empire(with differend point cost).
What I wish from the game, besides new factions and new subfactions (at least for the most popular ones), is story campaigns for them. I want no empty titles—always a battle and something to gain in planetary domination. More diversity for titles in planetary domination (solve skeletal campaign is a good example):

Tech tree upgrade cogs

Army points

I'd prefer a choice between cogs and points after the battle, with the number of points depending on how decisively you win (less you win, more points you get for better balance). Points ranking for copetetive pepole to get highest score or to beat your own score in the the campaign and planetary domination

Market place where you can exchange cogs for army points and army points for cogs

Free units to army (so you take the title and get the unit)

Special units and characters with special command skills (maybe from another faction, e.g., Space Marines infantry for IG)

Special battles with mixed forces (e.g., Imperial Guard mixed with anybody, SM with Sisters of Battle)

Special story events

Greater diversity for the battlefield:

Damaging spaces (radiation/minefields)

Healing and/or impetus generating spaces (ie. shrines)

Destructive environment (bridges, exploding gas tanks)

Hard terrain like swamp slowing down unit movement (M-1 or -2 and evasion minus)

Mixes like: destructible bridge over damaging hot sands, toxic swamp (slow move and poison)

Special weather conditions like sandstorm (evasion plus, weapon RNG-1 down, up to 1 unit view RNG minus 2)

The problem these days that there is too much toxicity in the gaming industry and people literally troll for the smallest things that does not please them individually always comparing with other games or just being verbally aggressive.
Constructive criticism are welcome but just spamming hate literally no,even before typing something on the keyboard we must take our time to express our thinking not forgetting that on the other side there is a human being and be respectful plays an important role with the interaction with developers or other members of the community of a video game in general.
Again as for me and I am sure for many silent gamer Battlesector is an extreme well crafted product that certainly need to be polished and hope to get more factions in the future.

I was looking for a way to send you a private message, but cannot find it. I'll write here but if you can message me I'd like to go on in private, if you agree.
My frend, programmers may not be rich, but players neither; expecially if they are from outside USA.
The first rule to gain respect is to give respect; if you sell a product that is unfinished and rude in the opinion of most buyers, you are not giving respect. I understand all and you know I like you and your methods, but silent majorities do not exist; I read you are a history lover, you should know that all groups that remain silent are not much interested in something. Even the most pacific human or animal becomes a tiger if in need to defend something he loves. Beside that, look at recensions.
I'm really looking forward to have a major patch, but that would require months, and I burned my christam gift, my occasion to play with WH frends, and my christmas time.
Nothing bad, we all have plenty of other stuff to do, but I DO feel... wounded in some way.
Probably I've too high expectations, but as you should understand it's not that most players are aggressive, is that when you touch something as deep as Warhammer is for us that play from ages, you touch our... feelings?? XD It that right to say?
About that small gaming house, Matrix games (now slitherine seems to me) was my favourite; they were THE BEST in 2D games, from ww2 turn-based exagons to myh loved Close Combat... if they cannot face the 3D, they should keep doing what they can do best. You ask for warhammer games? They should have implemented Armageddon 2D, in my opinion, and make Battlesector on that engine. All their 2D games were low graphics, high content, even the new ones.
Again, I really like your posts, evn if I find them incorrect in many aspects, you are very good and I'd like you as tabletop rival.
Best things to you, and really also to shoulder-mounted autocannon Edmond, and everyone. Maximum power to Slitherine, may it give us the holy grail of gaming! We are all frends here, enemies are in Ukraine, I'm sure you are following the frontline and I'm so worried. We are frends here, all of us; even the most hated son of a b. that just crushed us in our favorute game. You know that, don't get upset. :-P
Short of playing actual 40k, this is as close of an approximation of actual tabletop as one can get.

Ah, 7th, that is false to me. We have a very diferent gaming history.
Played unofficial 2d tabletop simulators 95% accurate that are no longer around; sadly the pandemic destroyed many things here, and real tabletop (wich I have a gaming room at home XD) is declining for pc games.
Next game for the group is this a mod with excellent details.

A good 2D armageddon with many armies would be great; they are making an unofficial wh 2d game already, we will see how it works.

But again, the main problem is my high expectations that many around me also have. Old catacians are the hardest to talk with; mainly because we always act as if we 'are the change we want to see', no requie : )
The game still gets stuck in multiplayer, several years after release. Unacceptable, honestly. Everything else is alright, but the fact that every other game becomes unplayable after a few turns, is just.. exhausting and inexcusable.

Tabletop Sim is the tabletop sim, that is, playing the actual 40k via roundabout means. That's just tabletop, minus social aspect. Such means do still exist today, but I shant post about it in public.

MoW mod is an tactical RTS, which is not an attempt to imitate the tabletop, but rather an attempt to imagine 40k combat irl. Not what I'm talking about. Hell, I've even was on a mod team for a historical MoW project at one point.

TLK looks neat , but it appears more of an attempt to go for Epic scale game. Again, not what I am talking about. Never played Epic irl, so can't even comment on that anyways.

Authentic 40k tabletop experience is: "throwing two pre-made lists against one another on a fairly simple table with often rudimentary terrain, playing fairly basic set of objectives which boil down to whoever hits harder wins" That is, to my eyes, an authentic game of physical 40k irl as it was since at least 2nd edition. This game is a very close approximation of that.
If only this approx was good...
HAHA OK OK I'M JOKING I'M JOKING! :D
Thanks for the reply :)
