One thing to note: A tech priest is technically a unit from the Cult Mechanicus faction, and while they are often seen assisting Space Marines or Astra Militarum, they are a "borrowed" unit, like an inquistor might be, for example.
There is some risk that distinct factions could "creep" into all becoming Imperium factions, rather than distinctly themselves.
Neutral units that you cud ad to all Imperial factions(or later units common to all subfactions of Chaos for example) like mechanicus priest or Inquisitor sounds interesting. Considering faction-dependent costs, it's cheaper for Adepta Sororitas to recruit an Inquisitor compared to a Techpriest (Cult of Omnissiah vs. Ecclesiarchy and Cult of the Emperor). The Guard is in the middle, with Space Marines on the opposite end of the spectrum.
If this is a concern, an alternative to this can be Atlas Recovery Vehicle and/or Trojan Support Vehicle. Both of these use the already existing Leman Russ and Chimera chassis, respectively, minimizing the need to make new 3D assets.
