I wish there was a VR version of the game

Irrelevant, but it would be awesome to have version of the game in VR where you could overview the battlefield, order your troops and see them battle. Or even better to select any table size to play in Mixed reality on a meta quest 3.

As I understand, the game is made in unity. If that is true, is there a way to mod it?

you can try with rai-pal / UUVR / VIRGIN universal mods, I couldnt find any list of games that are confirmed to work with it online but it may be possible. mixed reality is not gonna happen though
