Questions from a tabletop gamer
I just picked this game up for my new PC, and what a deal! It looks as close to tabletop 40k as you can get and the future of this game looks pretty good. I haven't played video games in years, being an avowed tabletop player, but this really looks like it will work for me. Is there a comparable PC game for the Warhammer Fantasy universe you could recommend? Thanks

There's Sanctus Reach, but it's much less sophisticated, say. (You play as the the Space Wolves in the main game, with the Empire and I forgot who with the DLC).
Gladius is similar, but with Civilization touch (haven't tried it).
There are a few squad-based games like Chaos Gate or Mechanicus. They should be less like TT and more like Xcom (although I've tried neither).
And some older games which I don'know or remember.

For fantasy there is only Mordheim city of the damned (which is more squad based like Xcom). In the genre of RTS (real time strategy) there is the Total War: Warhammer Series (which is huge) and focusing on smaller scale engagements is Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin which just came out and is in the Sigmar "setting".

Sanctus Reach is not to be overlooked. It's a great game with many campaigns
and other play modes. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

The graphics are dated, but IMO are quite adequate and then some.

Campaigns include Space Wolves, Imperial Guard, Orks and one or two others I think.
