Why always spess mahrines?
Can't we explore a setting where they are absent? Tau vs Necrons? Tyranids vs Eldar? Every 40k game always spess mahrines, getting boring.

And rightfully so,a Warhammer game without the Space Marines is a big minus.
Yeah Darktide will say otherwise.

Now I like the idea of Darktide and Emperor knows IG needs love but just go over too the Darktide forum and you'll see the posted about "Why are their no Space Marines".

Because they are the most similar faction to actual humans and they intend the player to relate to the characters.

To me, Space Marines were always the 'supehero' faction for humans, at least before Custodes got put in as an actual army list. Guard and Sisters of Battle are 'normal' humans, or at least mainly.

I started playing 2nd ed. and the 'wombles' were always the centrepiece of 40k. Nothing much has changed, either on TT popularity or in being one of the initial factions in most games, in the years since. Doesn't matter so much to me, especially if there's a half-decent narrative and it's not always the same chapter. I liked how DoW's magpies were developed, quite like how Space Marine showed the Ultramarines, and having Blood Angels for a change will be cool. Now give me an army I play too... :admech:

8-11 foot tall mutated men are not the most similar faction to humans. Guard,Ecclesiarchy,Inquisition are much closer.

ehh, it's a power fantasy, so i'd say it's the closest we get to "Human-Superheroes", but yes, Astra Militarum is closer to just regular joes :)

imo there a Space Marine should have been in place of the Ogryn. Either that or a suped up Inquisitor.

It's a sin. That our glorious battle brothers are not being represented. And by that I mean that it's not the honourable battle brothers of the Ultra Marines. Led by, him Cato Sicarius, the greatest and most powerful of the battle brothers, in the greatest and most honourable chapter of the most loyal and oh so perfect Imperium. In fact remove the Blood Angels and the Tyrannids. We must have a game about the glory of the Ultra marines. and the Ultra marines alone. We must shine our armour.

Space Marines, since most of the WH40k lore etc. is explored in books through the human perspective = Space Marines.
The human perspective would actually be Imperial Guard, since the Marines are all brainwashed clones.
Space Marines arn't clones...... and this is why https://www.tabletoptournaments.net/t3_armies.php?cid=0&gid=3

Just ignore 2ndaries who clearly have not even the slightest understanding of 40k. Let alone the most featured and lore rich faction.

No offense intended. but i only see you complaining here pal
So maybe it's getting boring for you, not for a big scale of players
By my personeel experience i'm always excited to see a new Warhammer 40K game featuring more Space Marine content, since there's around 1,000 Space Marines chapters active according with the wikia.
And every one of them have their unique traits and features, and for what i see, some of them never did a cameo in some game or even had been playble, like Black Templars who are one my favorites
But i guess the most liked out there are Ultra smurfs aka ultramarines and Blood ravens aka kleptomaniacs lmao
So i'm liking a lot that Sanguinius boys are getting some space xD
And another proof of how spess mahrines are still a good damn cool and popular theme it's how almost every 40K fan wishes a Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine sequel gets made someday. yeah that game made by SEGA some years ago
But if you are looking for another 40K game without Space Marines, look at that upcoming one called Darktide, for what i have read, no spess mahrines there lol

What I find funny is, if you go to the Darktide page they are crying about NOT having any Space Marines.

What is funny about that to me is that I never go to the Darktide page because I have no interest in a mostly female IG unit. So it seems that people interested in Space Marines are less trollish then their detractors.

Yeah Darktide will say otherwise.

Darktide wont change the fact that most people enjoy the SMs.

If we are gonna be honest, besides Warhammer 40k FireWarrior, Total Warhammer 2 is probably the second most "risky" high budget video game product from GW to date.

A game with the Lizardmen, both Elves and Skaven? no human nor any of the top played or liked factions were in it.

Game 1 had the Empire and Dwarves, Game 3 will have Chaos, both extremely popular.
High Elves were what? 7th place as the most popular faction? i forgot now, but they were after the Empire, all chaos factions and the Dwarfs i think (possibly after the Orks too)

Not saying there were never non-SM focused games (that theres plenty), i am just talking about high budget releases.
