The army management screen needs to show the units and weapon statistics
For example, in the first army management screen of the campaign, I can add Aggressors. They have a Boltstorm Gauntlet as their weapon. Ok, what does this weapon do? How much damage? What is the range, etc.?

Every unit should display their full stats when you click on them in the army management screen. Otherwise, we don't have the information we need to decide who to choose for our army.

Please add this. I'm surprised this is completely missing from a game like this, where stats are everything.

Completely agree. Its very frustrating trying to figure out the benefit of teching to alternative weapon when you can't compare what they are replacing. The army management screen should also show you your current army point cap. Instead you have to look at the mission brief then go back to the army management screen (especially since you don't seem to be able to add units from your reserve during unit placement). The screen should also show the units armor value/type.

It's frustrating that basic and obvious things like this get missed during development and testing. I hope the developers actually read these Steam forums and are responsive to these needed improvements.
Modu Jul 24, 2021 @ 10:36pm
Yes, it's amazing that nobody in testing complained about this heavily. For the first time in a long time I had to write things down (weapon stats) so that when I went to the HQ screen to view upgrades I could actually compare.

I want to punch the UI/UX designer(s) in the face.

Boltstorm, Attacks: 24, Damage: 2-3, AP: 1, Optimal Range: 1, Max Range: 3, Base Accuracy: 75, Accuracy Loss: 15, Points: 135, Squad Size: 3, Base Damage: 45, Full Damage @ A1: 108, Average Damage: 60, Average Point Efficiency: 44.44%.

The data isnt easily accessible generally, but for the Boltstorm you can see all the information in the army builder page when youre selecting their weapon and hovering over the weapon.

But yeah it needs to be fixed, the UI is pretty bad and mechanics arent explained.

Thank you, Canniballistic. But, it's every weapon, not just that one. I completely agree with you. The UI in the army management screen needs to show details for every unit and every weapon they carry, so we can make informed decisions about who to pick.

These devs already made a good professional game with Battlestar Galactica. They should know better.

Black Lab Games folks - you respond to the only comment in this thread that isn't about the issue. What about "the issue". Will this be improved, please?

I agree with the global subject here and would add that we also need a bit of explanations of what are the different statistics in this game (especially when you choose HQ skills which influences these stats, it is quite obscur what you are upgrading).

I don't understand how things like this made it out of testing. This game was in development a long time, surely someone had to have pointed out that stats and skills aren't explained very well, nor are they shown in detail when choosing units for your army.

Gotta be honest, pulling this dude for what is so obviously a empty and non threatening post based on frustration alone is not going to help get your community onboard. I totally endorse Modu's comment. Do not come here and tell people what they can and cannot post when you, the Dev,have missed some obvious and needed gameplay issues.
I threw £30 at you too play this game. I accepted it has flaws but you and i know fine while that this post is about as threatening as body odour. The same body odour your post smells as bad as.

I respectfully request that you add basic features to the game that should have been in the product at initial release.

"respectful."

You've taken money in exchange for mediocre product and are thus owed respect. Get over yourself.
