Controllers don't work?

So, game is listed as "Full Controller Support", but it only works with Mouse and Keyboard.

Steam Input on, off, default, whichever. nothing seems to work.

Anyone figured this out, yet?

I tested a switch pro controller, a ps4 controller and then a wired PS4 controller that steam detects as a PS3 one. All of them worked by just plugging them in and I switched between them with the game open.

The only two things I have ticked in the big picture configuration are the first option and use switch controller config.

Hey, I'm happy for you. I'm stuck here with an Xbox One Wireless controller that works with every single game but SaGa Frontier.

Exactly, sounded more like a "you" thing than the game not supporting controllers all around. Possibly some kind of conflict or god knows what.

But from reading the other topic it might also be a xbox one controller thing. If there is any way to contact the devs this might be a thing.

This also reminds me xbox is the only platform the game didnt release in.

I've been playing this with my Xbox One Controller flawlessly worked the moment I plugged it in, no set up required. So I'll attribute it to you having some sort of other issue that is causing it.

I'm using a PS1 style controller and it works just fine. Are you using some 3rd party button re-mapper that's conflicting maybe?

Two or three threads about controller issues say it might be more than just me, but hey, post "it works for me" a few more times and it might change something.

Jokes aside, I've got a default steam setup right here; I've never managed my controller settings. It's always just worked. I can't say it is any setting I might have tripped based on that.

Don't suppose you've gone and messed with yours at some point in the past that might have coincidentally supported it? Big Picture mode, etc.?

No remapper. Just first party Xbox One Wireless Controller, and the Wireless-USB adapter it needs for PC use, and Steam. Every other game I go at works fine with it.

While moving through the windows on the title screen with the mouse, sometimes I see the Xbox Buttons on the selections (such as B on config and so on), but input does nothing.

try unplugging stuff, restarting, ettc. i've had that happen with steam in the past. same setup.

the person he quoted seemed like they thought the game didnt have any controller support at all. which is false. try being less of a spazz and learn what context and reading comprehension are.

I've got the same problem as you -- I've got an Xbox One Wireless Controller. Tried it wired & wireless and can't get it to work.

Wild, my 360 controller I even turned on after launching the game and it instantly worked.

Mine is also wireless, but the Xbox One controller uses a different connection to the computer. I just couldn't get one in my budget for a main PC controller, but I hope they have a look at whether it's specific to that controller type, as they are different versions of controllers in the first place..

I have a wired 8BitDo SN30 Pro controller and the game also doesn't recognize it. I've had it work with every other game that has controller support due to it being XInput, but this game refuses to acknowledge it.
