Forgot how insanely hard the final boss for Blue is
This boss is insane with aoe one shots and 4 attacks a round. I don't know how I beat him as a kid, guess grinding for 30 hours might do it but honestly I don't think I have the patience these days to go through that just to get a cut to black ending.
Anyone else having issues with any of the bosses?

Haven't fought him yet, but I know Riki boss is going to make me his b**** again when I do.

I beat it solely using power grab every turn, lmao. My whole party died, but Blue stayed alive every turn with it, eventually whittling it down.

yeah I have a memory of using exclusively martial arts builds >_> all characters, mega suplexes for days and the over the top combo attacks.

Um... you're Blue dude

you have access to ODSR right out of the gate and you're having trouble? Blue can solo his final boss, it's not even a contest

Yeah... I was confused about this, as well. The final Boss is faced with Blouge so you have access to a god among men and the most overpowered character by far.

The only Boss in this game that gave me trouble was in Riki's story because I didn't optimize my monsters as much as I could but I still won because a fully decked T260G and Gen with LifeSprinkler are just that good.

Boss is easier if you speed run to him since he is then on a lower level. Problem is I am at the midway I think and even with Overdrive+Shadow Clone+Spamming Tower it is enough to only get him to phase 2 then he just spams 4 attacks a round and most are 1 or 2 shots. Just need to grind basically to fix that issue but it's a pain when you cannot go back and get items and you only get 1 rest from the stone.

I just did this about an hour ago. Stumbled my way through by having Gen and Lute focus on attacking, and Cotton, Blue, and a Backpack equipped Mei Lin, doing a ton of healing. Not pretty, but it worked first try blind, so hey!

With hindsight, I think you can at least prepare against some of his tricks. Fire and Lightning resistance to nullify his breath attacks, and some anti-Poison/Paralysis gear. The closest calls I had were when he paralyzed 3+ party members at once. The poison was less threatening, but still probably worth preparing against.

Try abusing the Overdrive cheese. Do you have Snakeoil?
Intra Apr 16, 2021 @ 7:11pm
I believe Time Leap skips all bosses turns completely. So even without Overdrive abuse, you can Soul Rune/Light Sword and wear speed boosting gear to max speed and outspeed the final boss, skip his turn, win. I think Time Eclipse severely lowers the boss speed but I don't know how long it lasts.

If you can't, then Overdrive, buff up everyone, Stasis Rune, Snake Oil it off, Dark Sphere to remove Stasis Rune off enemy or wait it out, win.

At the very least, once it stops buffing the surviving monster, it stops one-shotting. And if you somehow run out of JP/WP, Destiny's Ring to get everyone topped up and just keep healed with magic or backpack. Oh, and, purchase the anti-gaze and anti-sound things from Manhattan.

Edit: Do the Arcane quest (not Rune quest, that will break for Riki unless they put the fix for that one Blue bug into Riki's scenario) and go grab Kylin. Beats magma slimes, ESPECIALLY at low BR, and helps with the final boss.

Riki can get Mesarthim, helps a lot for sustaining healing. Get some good combos, because MasterRing has a glitch that it will exponentially buff its defense on switch-out until you do no damage outside of combos (you can dispel this with Vortex and DarkSphere if you have access to them, you'll have to do so repeatedly because it's innate). It has super low HP for a final boss though. If you have good combos and heal with Mesarthim the boss is probably one of the easiest of the 7 original final bosses.

Almost every final boss can be sustainable healed without Mesarthim with use of Vitality Rune, one Backpack user and one MagicHeal(Mystic probably) user. You might need certain immunities, like Sonic immunity against certain bosses. Against Genocide Heart, that's the one that can give you brutal RNG that leads to certain death no matter how you prepare. Carnage into Magnetic Storm is almost always a GG. Unless you specifically bring mostly non-Mecs to the fight to counter MagneticStorm.

Asellus' final boss is high in rng as well, but the average makes the fight fairly easy. The very rare worst end of RNG can ruin you unless you have petrify/charm immunity. But on average it's a pretty easy fight. P.S. Orlouge can be trivialized with Rouge using PsychicPrison. Makes the RNG of the fight a joke.

Didn't know that was a thing so I looked it up and used it on the boss and I was finally able to beat the boss with it with just Blue and the robot since everyone else would just get 1 shot or be constantly stunned.
I lost count on the boss HP when it exceeded 65,000 so it took awhile to beat. Also if you kill the final boss with the life drain spell it skips the ending and you do not get the achievement.

If you want an easier strat, use the following:
- SoulRune
- ShadowServant
- spam MegaWindblast
- last move is Tower

With a base BR1 Blouge, you can usually kill Hell'sLord before Tower goes off since MegaWindblast deals ~7.3k per hit and SoulRune can usually break the Heavenly Peace Divisor. If you train your Blouge up with more stats and end OverDrive with Tower, you can kill Hell'sLord quite easily in one cycle at nearly any Battle Rank.

If i recall correctly, the remaster fixed the JP cap abuse, which means characters will stop using spells if they reach their cap even in overdrive

I didnt want to risk so i eent with cheaper spells
