Grinding Spots for rare monster absorbs and enemy drops
Bear in mind that you usually don't want to grind in this game except for specific things, but here's what I found.

You can get a Unicorn 100% of the time after your BR is too high to get them normally by going to the teleporting fairy room in Koorong Sewers, just before Koorong Caverns. Run up to the fairy without touching it and it will flee, leaving behind a beast type enemy.

Monsters can absorb Magic Heal and Life Rain (very rare) from Unicorns, and they drop Unicorn Tears (rather useless accessories) and Magi-Hats, which can be good for Mystics who can't equip suits.

They also come with:
* Treants, from whom monsters can absorb Photosynthesis.
* Red Dragons, from whom monsters can absorb Fire Breath, Claw, Flame Blast, and Fang Crush; and who drop Fire Leather (sells for a decent amount), Harmonium Earring, and Golden Fleece (one of the two best body armors in the game, though not that useful).
* Living Swords, who both drop Glirandly and can give it to any human or mec via Possession. They seem to only use Possession after you deal about 600 to 800 HP damage to them.
* Kitty Clawers, from whom monsters can absorb Claw, Tail, and Charm Gaze; and who drop Harmonium Earrings.
* Gunbirds, who drop Lethal Guns.

---

I'm trying to get Life Rain on Slime, so I have Slime in my main party with Suzaku, and Slime absorbs the Unicorn while Suzaku gets another monster if it appears.

However if a Living Sword appears, I switch to my backup party which is nothing but mecs and humans with open weapon slots, who are all very powerful and either equipped with Purple Eyes to resist Charm Gaze or Dodge Gaze. They kill everything but the Living Sword, deal 600 to 800 damage to it, and then wait around for it to use Possession on one of them. While it's wasteful to not bring a Monster to get Life Rain or Magic Heal, Glirandlys are too important to pass up this opportunity. I got 2 of them in the past half hour.

---

Other noteworthy spots include:
* Sonic Bats in the Ancient Ship in Shingrow, for Supersonic, Poison Grip, Scream, Glider Spike, and Purple Eyes.

* Devil Squid in Owmi Manor, for Ink, Thunderbolt, Maelstrom, and Ogre Glove. Note that Ink and Maelstrom or Mighty Cyclone can get you Kraken form if your HP is very high.

* Ettins in Furdo's Workspace, for quick Fire Breath or Arctic Breath.

* The alarm room in Despair for BR + 2 IIRC mecs, including R&R and Skylab who both have valuable mec skills.
> Skylab has Evasion Laster, Mec Sonata, and Self Repair.
> R&R has Evasion Rocket, Logic Bomb, and Self Repair, and Hyper Scales which sell in the Junk Shop in Scrap.

* Mosperiburg Mountain by way of the Shield Card quest though IRPO, which gives you early access to one (1) Suzaku you should absorb with a Mystic, and an easily repeatable and very tough battle with a Black Dragon and a Red Dragon. You can also find Snow Folk and Jotnar here, but the process is unreliable.

* After getting the Hide Rune (and before getting any rune stones at all, and maybe while the arcane quest is active), you can go to the end of the Koorong Caverns and fight Word Broods forever. They drop Magic Heal and Harmonium Bangles, though at a very, very low rate.

* I think the Birds in the Koorong alleyway where you find Dr. Nusaken cap at BR 4? Or was it 7? And maybe the aquatic, human, slime, and IIRC mec monsters in the sewer branch below that spot also cap below max BR?

* Shingrow Ruins, which gets you a Gaea Toad, Spear Valkyrie, Sword Valkyrie, Huge Slimes, and Big Slimes, but it is slow unless you cheat to make them auto-respawn.
> The Gaea Toad drops Behemoth Rifles, which sell for a great price at the Junk Shop in Scrap.
> Spear Valkyrie drops Harmonium Bangles at a poor rate, and otherwise have some middling skill and item drops.
> The two slimes offer 99 stat up bonus, which will eventually let you max all your stats except WP and JP

* Sphinx at the Leo sign in Time Lord's Realm, for Sphinx Riddle, Wind Blast, Sacred Song, and Celestial Leather (sells for a great price)
> A bunch of other spots in Time Lord's Realm

* The Biolab at BR 7+, for any BR 9 monster except giants, dragons, humans, or mecs.
> Crystal Tree is essential for getting Stonegas and Magnetic Storm

---

Please tell me if you know of any consistent way to get these foes to appear, or any monster I can grind against to multi-task and have them appear at a reasonable rate:
* Dark Fairy, for Silver Moon, Kris Knife, Sad Song, and Poison Mist
* Genbu, for Genbu Shield
* Living Mirror, for Psy Reflector
* Banshee, for Counter Fear and Harmonium Bangle
* Lich, for Counter Fear, Death Touch, Deadly Moss, and Kris Knife
* Basilisk, for Harmonium Bangle and Stone Gaze
* Dancer, for Kris Knife
* Snowfolk, for Ice Barrier and the other abilities needed to become them, as well as Sleet Coins
* Water Folk, for Life Rain and Sea Stone
* Titania, for Sad Song, and Lullaby
* Succubs, for Sad Song, and Lullaby

Genbu in the sewers. Lizards. Sea Stones are great Accessories too.

Succubus at Sai's Tomb. First Fairy. I save next to the fairy and soft reset with joystick when I don't get the enemy I want. You can also use this location to train with the Naga to Spark Techniques and Counters. Once you learn all her Evasion Skills, she basically becomes an excellent practice dummy. Cast both Fool and Vitality Rune for longer fights.

Soft Reset = Left Trigger + Right Trigger + Start + Select

The Sewers are BR locked? Which ones, the ones outside Dr. Nusaken's clinic?

Is that part of Sei's Tomb BR locked?

Yes. Genbu in the sewers at BR 7+ under Dr. Nusakan's Clinic.

Personally, I farmed the Naga at Max BR, but those Succubus kept showing up.

Can't test my game at the moment, because my characters are doing the rune quest. I'm at the last room in Tanzer standing under a Slime spawn, with a toothpick holding down the A button so I can Max HP/WP/JP with all my characters.

For the Mystic's JP you have human gunners with Quick Draw. That way they don't even use the spells selected and never run out of JP without Magic Crowns reducing the cost. It's a great spot for mystics to max their resources without much effort.

This Slime spawn point doesn't even raise BR...
