I opened a ticket with Valve support. Let's see if they can undo those non-Redfall refunds, since I can't get them anymore because some were part of a pre-order promotion.
Question to those who also got their Redfall base game automatically refunded: Did you have less than 2 hours of gameplay in it? Or less than 2 hours of gameplay in the games you bought with Redfall in the same Steam cart checkout?
Did anyone get a refund who only bought the standard edition without DLC?
It's gone and took other games with it (were in the same cart back when I bought the game).
You can check to see if any other games got automatically refunded by clicking on your Steam name in the upper right, then clicking on purchase history. The refund should be listed in a recent transactions with any other games that were in the same cart.
On the same page, you can click on "view/print purchase receipt" and it'll show you the original cart you bought Redfall with.
But Steam really came through. If any person is reading this thread and was responsible for giving me my Refund I am really appreciative of this. You guys went above and beyond because I know I bought the game way before the game even launched so I know you had to go through tons of old purchase information. Thanks. Truly.
I'm guessing it's an error on Bethesda on Valve. Instead of refunding by the game ID, they refunded by its transaction ID, which also refunds anything else that was in the cart with the same transaction ID. Unless those games were played for over 2 hours and were no longer eligible for a refund.
But it stands to reason that you could contact Steam support, explain to them (nicely, please) that you never asked for a refund. Ask them to please return the game/DLC products to your library, or to at least explain to you why you lost access to these products.
Just in case you've never done it: You can reach out to Steam support by clicking on your icon/wallet balance in the top right of the Steam app, then clicking on "account details". Afterwards, click on "view purchase history". You should see the refund listed here. Click on it, and then click on "I have a question about this purchase".
I contacted Steam support and they basically told me to go fuck myself, that they won't give me the option to get pre-order bonuses for other games I bought with Redfall, and that if I want the games back, I'll have to buy it from the store page.
What a fucking joke.
