Capitalism is ruining gaming.
Yes, I get that producing a game is a capitalistic endeavor. That said, I feel like when you introduce a board of directors, or shareholders, or ♥♥♥♥♥♥ suits that don't game, but want that money, you get releases like Redfall, and countless other disappointments in the AAA gaming. This isn't the devs fault, this is some corporate schmuck that put a deadline down. And if this is how they treat their customers, god have mercy on their devs. I was seriously disappointed in how Bethesda treat Mick Gordon, and now this? Last straw, and last game I ever buy coming from them.

Yeh, because capitalist corporations run by greedy millionaires and billionaires don't cause issues :steamfacepalm:

What's funny is this game's theme is very anti-corporation. Might be part of why Phil Spencer threw the core creative under the bus-PS isn't far off from being in a position that the game is ideologically against.

Capitalism is a free market. Companies free to create, market and sell a product as they see fit. Consumers free to purchase, or not purchase, said products as they see fit.

Of those two parties, only one is at fault. The consumer. Companies are in the position to make money with the least amount of effort possible. Consumers are in the position to hand over hard earned dollars for the product. As long as consumers keep buying trash, companies will continue to deliver trash. And can you blame them? If a dog keeps biting you and you do nothing about it, it's not the dogs fault. It's yours. The dog is just being a dog.

Start holding these companies accountable with your money. Stop giving it to them until the end product quality increases.
How well did Forspoken and Saints Row sell?

Honestly based on my experience online, even if you don't.

I've been called Communist for supporting a free market
That’s pretty funny considering free market and laizze fair type economy is the complete opposite extreme of communism
Free market and free trade are coded terms for slave labor from foreign countries. I don't support free trade at all. My country could to well with tariffs and protectionism to protect American workers and get rid of those damn visas that allow corporations to import labor and pay them $2 per hour.

Good job buddy, you are only out by a couple of orders of magnitude. When you are out by 10 times, you'll get your participation award.

B word, I have been playing nothing but good games maybe if you would stop being such a loyal b word consumer and look at indie gaming instead of consuming the latest slop you would realize gaming is doing fine without AAA studios.

You sound like an abused wife, just stop buying AAA titles, Star Wars and Funko Pops.

Forgot how many right-wing, bootlicking chuds plague gaming.

And to be clear, you must own capital to be a capitalist. To be a worker and claim to support capitalism is the same as saying that you're happy to lick crumbs off your master's floor.

To OP:
It is not capitalism. It is greed.
You can be capitalist without too greedy.
I've been plaing videogames since the 80's and I saw the growing greed in the industry.
10-15 years ago a DLC was called Espansion.
An expansion pack usually conatined 1/3 or at least 1/4 of the original game content.
Lots of extra maps, extra storyline etc.
Today it's just a few extra mission or skins.
Just look at GTA 4.
Two major expansions but after that in GTA 5 greed took over.
Pointless online cars, stupid clothes, insane grind and a few extra story missions.
So it is greed.

You sound like you're self-soothing. Look around you. Rising prices, stagnant wages, record profits, bought politicians. The environment is degrading. No hope in the youth. Capitalism must end.

Just checked my profile, the game I played most is not a AAA game and so are 3 out of 5 of my most played games.

I don't know how you arrive at the conclusion that I am a predominantly AAA gamer from what I said but I am guessing logic and critical thinking are foreign concepts to you.

Gen Z(ero) who think Fart Night is the pinnacle of gaming is what's ruining gaming. They think crates and fluorescent pink cosmetics are a good thing and broken "release now fix never" games are business as usual.

These guys weren't around when even the games published by EA were good in both quality and quantity of content.

Funny you say that because Fortnite has the most pro-consumer monetization model when compared to most live services
Chasing trends is ruining gaming. You're not going to dethrone the juggernauts that have massive install bases of players who literally only play the one game that they're obsessed with--whether that be Call of Duty, Destiny, or Fortnite. Stop trying. Play up your strengths. Arkane makes a genre of game better than anyone else, the immersive sim genre, and they should further explore and perfect that like From Software did with the Soulsborne genre.
