Why make games always online?
I don't get it. Why make games always online to play single-player? All it does is hurt the legitimate user as pirates are sure to crack the game themselves to be playable offline.

Just google it. It’s not allowed to talk about it on steam. Plenty of games were. Single player stuff should never have always online stuff in it this only hurts honest customers. I don’t care about games like that anyway

nice cop out

not a single online-only game has been circumvented except for private servers for mmos

Not true. Still the piracy argument will never be accurate because piracy is very niche. No drm or something else will prevent from that and it will only hurt you the honest customer.
Like Gaben once said: You have to give customers a better service than the pirates and anti piracy measures aren’t the way to go

following the rules isn't a copout.

Back on my wishlist it goes. Obviously not buying until the online requirement is gone though. Not interested in live service BS.

Rememner Anthem, Battleborn, Babylons fall and any number of other games now unplayable forever due to this online only BS. I never fell for those scams obviously, still good to have some reminders of why it's best not to fall into these traps.

Yup, Darkspore can be thrown on that list and soon Godfall will join them. Time for gamers to stand up as we want to have some ownership of the games we pay for so we can play anytime we want. A few years ago I reinstalled Darkspore hoping to jump in for nostalgia not realizing it was online only even on single player.
